Avatar: Fire and Ash Lands on Disney+ Tomorrow — Catch Up

What to Watch Tonight to Catch Up

Avatar (2009) — Disney+ The one that started it all. Still holds up as a technical achievement and introduces every character, creature, and conflict that carries through the entire series. Avatar: The Way of Water (2022) — Disney+ Cameron spent 13 years between the first and second films, and the result shows in every frame of water. The Sully family relocates to the reef clans of Pandora, introducing the Metkayina and some of the most stunning underwater sequences ever committed to film. At 3 hours 12 minutes, it's a commitment — but you'll want the full context before Fire and Ash picks up the story.

June 2026 is going out with a bang. Here's what else lands this week:

The Bear Season 5 finale — Hulu, June 25. All eight episodes of the final season drop Thursday. Creator Christopher Storer has confirmed this is genuinely the end — Carmy's kitchen closes for good.

Avatar: The Last Airbender Season 2 — Netflix, June 25. Toph Beifong arrives in Netflix's live-action adaptation, and early buzz says Season 2 tightens up the pacing considerably from the first season.

Little Brother — Netflix, June 26. John Cena and Eric André star in a comedy that's either exactly what you want or exactly what you don't. André has been making the press rounds this week, and the chaotic energy of his interviews suggests the film matches his brand.

What to Watch First

Tonight, start with Avatar (2009). It's the foundation everything else rests on, and at nearly three hours, it's the one you'll want to knock out tonight. Tomorrow morning, queue up The Way of Water, and by the time Fire and Ash drops, you'll be fully Pandora-literate.

If three hours of blue aliens isn't your speed tonight, pivot to the first two seasons of The Bear on Hulu. You've got 48 hours before the finale — just enough time to remember why you fell in love with a show about a Chicago sandwich shop that accidentally became a fine-dining institution.
