The show is a modern reimagining of a 1960 tokusatsu cult film about a man who can transform his body into gas, slipping through any barrier to commit impossible crimes.

Written by Yeon Sang-ho (Train to Busan, Hellbound) and directed by Shinzo Katayama, the series stars Shun Oguri and Yu Aoi in their first live-action pairing in 23 years. The premise is genuinely unsettling: the Human Vapor kills someone on live television by making them swell and explode, and a reporter named Kono is the only one dogged enough to chase the truth. All eight episodes drop today — a perfect one-sitting binge for fans of smart, atmospheric sci-fi.

Survival of the Thickest Says Goodbye (Netflix)

If gas-powered murderers aren't your speed, Michelle Buteau's Survival of the Thickest returns for its third and final season. Mavis Beaumont's journey as a plus-size stylist navigating New York City, career chaos, and messy romance wraps up today with the same warm, razor-sharp humor that made the show a word-of-mouth hit when it debuted in 2023.

Buteau is joined by Tone Bell and Marouane Zotti for the final run. The show never got the massive marketing push of Netflix's bigger titles, but its audience found it anyway — and the finale deserves its moment.
