Tonight's Picks: What to Stream on Monday Night (June 22)

Monday nights don't get the same hype as Friday or Saturday, but they're quietly the best night to catch up on something you missed over the weekend. No pressure to pick the perfect movie. No scrolling paralysis. Just you, the remote, and whatever Pixar just dropped on Disney+.

Hoppers (Disney+)

Pixar's latest original film landed on Disney+ earlier this month, and if you haven't caught it yet, tonight's the night. The movie follows a clever beaver who swaps minds with a human scientist — it's absurd, fast-paced, and easily the studio's funniest outing in years. Critics have been unusually warm: Rotten Tomatoes calls it a "sprightly riot" and more than a few reviewers have placed it alongside Ratatouille and Inside Out in Pixar's top tier.

What makes Hoppers work is how it balances big laughs with genuine heart. The voice cast is sharp, the sci-fi premise gives the animators room to play, and at 95 minutes it doesn't overstay its welcome. Perfect Monday-night length.

Office Romance (Netflix)

If animation's not your speed, Netflix has Jennifer Lopez in Office Romance — a comedy about two rival magazine editors forced to collaborate on a joint issue. It's the kind of glossy, low-stakes romcom that's been missing from the streaming landscape, and Lopez brings the same sharp timing she showed in Hustlers and Shotgun Wedding. The chemistry with her co-star keeps the predictable plot moving, and the New York media-world setting gives the production design some genuine texture.

It's light, it's watchable, and it's been quietly climbing the Netflix top 10 all week.

Doctor on the Edge (Hulu)

Hulu's medical dramedy Doctor on the Edge drops a new episode tonight — the latest in a season that's been balancing absurd hospital cases with sharper character work. The show follows a burned-out surgeon relocated to a remote clinic where the cases are weirder and the rules are looser. If you liked The Good Doctor but wished it had a darker sense of humor, this one's worth a look. New episodes arrive Mondays, so you're right on schedule.

What to Watch First

Start with Hoppers. It's the strongest pick of the night — a Pixar original with real critical weight behind it, on a platform you probably already have. Save Office Romance for a midweek pick-me-up, and let Doctor on the Edge stack up a few episodes before you dive in.

What are you watching tonight? Something new, or an old favorite you keep coming back to?
