Synopsis
A documentary film journey through northern Chile in the footsteps of the author's ancestors, the Hamburg merchants H.C. Fölsch and H.B. Sloman. At the turn of the last century, Chilean saltpeter was the most important raw material for the production of explosives and fertilizers.
