NJPW presented Hiroshi Tanahashi ~ Final Homecoming on November 2, 2025, at the Gifu Memorial Center in Gifu, Japan, honoring Tanahashi’s last major hometown appearance with a lineup of championship matches and key tournament finals. The event featured Konosuke Takeshita vs. Hirooki Goto for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship, Tanahashi’s hometown showdown with Yota Tsuji for the IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship, and SHO & DOUKI vs. Robbie X & Taiji Ishimori in the deciding match of the 2025 Super Junior Tag League.
