Synopsis
A study of life in mountain areas of the Eastern United States, as revealed in folk music and dances. Includes scenes of isolated areas in western North Carolina and shows farmers, shopkeepers, and hunters in the Appalachians. Shows the filmmakers as they are taken by folksinger Bascom Lamar Lunsford to the homes of the singer's friends and neighbors
