Synopsis
A political election is coming up, in which Governor van Wieten is challenged by the liberal party's William Thompson, a newspaper editor. Thompson also happens to be engaged to van Wieten's daughter, Ilka. To make matters even more complicated, Thompson is suspected of stealing money from his party.
