Synopsis
Closed, (2023, Dari with English subtitles) is a documentary that explores the lives of marginalized women in Iran, specifically in Bandar Abbas and Hormuz Island. Through interviews with numerous women in two areas of rural Iran, the filmmaker reveals vast differences among the women about the importance of virginity before marriage, as well as how they might react should they learn one of their own daughters was not a virgin when she marries.
