Javier Colinas graduated as an electrical mechanical engineer from Tecnológico de Monterrey. He then moved to Los Angeles, with the interest of studying film at several of the most prestigious international schools. He studied at the New York Film Academy in 2002 and 2003, then at the University of Southern California, Extension Program, in 2003 and 2004. In 2008 he joined forces with actors Luis Ernesto Franco and Luis Arrieta and Max Blásquez to found the production company Los Güeros Films. The production company has stood out for its exploration of different film genres and has also implemented an interesting program that involves young students from the Tecnológico de Monterrey as part of the crew.
