Born: February 6, 1902 in Ozurgeti, Georgia - Died: July 16, 1983
Simon (Siko) Dolidze was georgian filmmaker and writer. He graduated from Tbilisi State University Faculty of History and Philosophy in 1925 and started working in movie studio "SAkhkinmretsvi" as a administrator and then as an assistent to director. In 1927 he made short film "A day in Karacho". He filmed his first feature film "In The Area Of Avalanches" in 1931. Since that he has shoot many masterpiece of georgian cinema. For most of his films he was a writer as well. In 1957-1976 he was a head of Georgian SSR Filmmakers union. He was a deputy in Parliament of IV-VII and IX convocation. He has been awarded by several high titles for his contribution to cinema.
