Luis Fernando Verissimo (Porto Alegre, September 26, 1936) is a Brazilian writer, comedian, cartoonist, translator, television scriptwriter, theater author and novelist. He was an advertiser and newspaper reviewer. He is also a musician, having played the saxophone in some ensembles. With more than 80 published titles, he is one of the most popular contemporary Brazilian writers. He is the son of writer Erico Verissimo.
