After her time at Second City, she went on to become the producer and head writer of the beloved sitcom WKRP in Cincinnati, which aired from 1979 to 1982. PJ's exceptional work on the show earned her and her colleagues two Emmy nominations for Outstanding Comedy Series. In addition to her television success, PJ also made significant contributions to the film industry as a co-writer for movies such as Real Genius, Back to School, Hostage for a Day, Caddyshack II, and Guarding Tess. It is worth noting that PJ's professional credits are typically attributed to her deadname, she transitioned from male to female in 2001.Tragically, PJ Torokvei passed away on July 3, 2013, due to complications from liver failure.
