Süreyya Duru (9 August 1930 - 21 February 1988), Turkish film director and producer. Duru, who graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Law after Galatasaray High School, is the son of producer Naci Duru. Süreyya Duru started working as a production supervisor at her father's company, Duru Film. He worked in the films of directors including Orhon Murat Arıburnu, Lütfi Ömer Akad and Atıf Yılmaz. In 1957, he founded the company Murat Film, named after his son. In 1961, he sat in the director's chair for the first time in the movie titled Aşk is Other in Istanbul. He directed Malkoçoğlu, which was adapted from a cartoon series of the same name in 1966. Malkoçoğlu was highly appreciated by the audience and sequels were also made. He died on February 21, 1988, at the age of 57, as a result of a heart attack during the shooting of the movie Ada, starring Rutkay Aziz and Türkan Şoray. His body was buried in Istanbul Feriköy Cemetery.
