Yiannis Maroudas was born in 1968 in Athens. He studied History (Athens School of Philosophy), Photography (Evgeniy Hatzikou Film School) and did postgraduate studies in Cultural Management (Panteion University, Department of Communication, Media and Culture). Since 1991 he has been working as a professional screenwriter for television and cinema. At the same time, he studies the broader field of culture, media and their market. Between 2007 and 2015 he taught Screenwriting at the Department of Cinema of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, while he has also taught in a series of seminars of the Greek Film Academy. Member of the Greek Screenwriters' Union since 1995, and member of the Board from 2007 to 2016. Since 2015, member of the Board of Directors of the Athens Screenwriters' Union.
