Sébastien Devrient, born January 10, 1972, in Lausanne, is a Swiss mountain guide, filmmaker, photographer, and author. Born in Switzerland, Sébastien Devrient grew up in the Burgundy countryside. As a child, he dreamed of becoming an expedition cameraman. Passionate about images, he pursued his dream by founding the production company Vertiges Prod with his wife, Carole Dechantre, to make adventure films. In 2002, he became a mountain guide. Sébastien has directed several documentaries for the cinema, all with an exploration theme: "Jean Troillet, Always an Adventurer," "Balancing on the Ocean" with the sailor Yvan Bourgnon, and "A Drop of Water on a Volcano," which recounts the adventure of two divers exploring the highest lakes in the world. He is currently directing a feature film that retraces the life of the cartoonist Derib, and is also developing a documentary series about cave exploration by scuba diving. It was following an accident on the south face of Annapurna that left him bedridden for several months that he began writing. "IMMPact" is his first novel.
