She studied method acting at the Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute in New York City, received a dance scholarship to The Alvin Ailey Fellowship Program, and competed as a member of the USA Rhythmic Gymnastics national team at the 2002 Rhythmic Gymnastics Group World Championships.
