Tengiz directed and wrote several films across various genres, including Gönül Kimi Severse (1959), Sevimli Haydut (1961), and Hazreti Ibrahim (1964). His film Ustura Behçet (1972) is among his notable works, showcasing his versatility in storytelling. Tengiz was married to actress Safiye Filiz, who starred in several of his films.
