Gabriella Rosaleva (born February 13, 1942 in Besozzo) is an Italian painter and film director. Rosaleva began her artistic career as a painter. After attending the "Scuola di Cinema" in Milan, she directed her first film in 1978, the short Una Maria del '23, shot on Super 8, which was followed by a large number of other short films. in 1982, her first feature film was released, the Processo a Caterina Ross, which was created after actual witch trials in 1697. Rosaleva's unconventional visual language, which is not easily accessible to normal viewing habits, could also be seen in two other films of the decade (always according to her own script) as well as a number of documentaries. She also directed the 39-part television series Licia dolce Licia in 1987.
