Zinédine Zidane, born June 23, 1972 in Marseille, is a Franco-Algerian international footballer playing as an attacking midfielder, as a playmaker who became a coach. Nicknamed Zizou, he is considered one of the greatest players in the history of football. He was cited among the 125 best players in the world still alive in 2004, in a joint ranking by Pelé and FIFA. He was named best world player of the year by FIFA three times, in 1998, 2000 and 2003, and won the 1998 Ballon d'Or. Although he was twice ranked second best French player of all time by France Football, he is for L'Équipe the best French footballer in history. While Real Madrid has nothing left to gain in 2018-2019, president Florentino Perez calls on Zinédine Zidane. Under his leadership, Real won its 34th Spanish championship title at the end of the 2019-2020 season and then its 11th Spanish Super Cup. He then won numerous titles including a championship and especially the Champions League three times in a row, an unprecedented feat for a coach. He broke several unbeaten records and was voted best world coach of the year, becoming the first man in the history of football to win the prizes for best player and best coach in the world. After leaving his post at the end of the 2017-2018 season, he was recalled to the post of coach in March 2019 by president Florentino Pérez and won a second Liga in 2020. At the end of the 2020-2021 season , he leaves his post as coach of Real.
