Mek Jirakit Thawornwong is an actor born in Bangkok. In 2017, he graduated with a bachelor's degree in communication arts from the faculty of humanities at Kasetsart University. His younger sister is GMMTV actor and singer Mook Worranit. With a desire to become a singer, Jirakit participated in the seventh season of the reality tv singing competition "The Star" representing Central Thailand but didn't make the top twenty-four. He auditioned again for its eighth season, this time representing the south though he was still eliminated. Mek was later offered and signed a contract with GMMTV. In 2011, Mek got his start in the industry as a host of "Bang Music Buffet" before being tapped to play Pete in the 2014 film "Part-Time Lover." On November 15, 2022, Mek announced his departure from GMMTV.
