Merlin Gordian Sandmeyer (born 1990 in Saarbrücken) is a German actor. Merlin Sandmeyer gained his first theatrical experience during his school years at a Waldorf school and subsequently worked at the Saarländisches Staatstheater as an assistant director, musician, and performer. From 2012 to 2016, he studied acting at the Otto Falckenberg School in Munich while simultaneously performing at the Münchner Kammerspiele. After completing his studies, he was a member of the ensemble at the Burgtheater in Vienna until 2019, before moving to the Thalia Theater Hamburg, where he has been a member of the ensemble ever since. Sandmeyer gained wider recognition through film and television roles, including the TV movie *Ruhe! Hier stirbt Lothar*—starring alongside Jens Harzer—and the mockumentary series *Die Discounter*. In 2025, he also appeared in the sequel to *Der Schuh des Manitu*. His reddish mustache is considered his personal trademark—one he has not yet had to shave off for any role. Sandmeyer lives in Hamburg with his family.
