Giulia Saavedra is a Film graduate from De La Salle- College of Saint Benilde, Manila, Philippines. Her short films as a student were recognized in different local film competitions and festivals. Saavedra's thesis film Maging Mga Ibon (2023) is a finalist in UP Cinema's Piling Obrang Vidyo XX. Her 1-min film, Looooongest Line (2022), is its category’s Best Picture in Ticket2Me’s Ikli Short Film Festival. Her short musical, Awitin! (2021) received Award of Excellence and Best Sound in Adamson University’s Silip@Lente RealiFilm 2021. Her documentary, Repo (2021), is also a finalist for Kidlat Tahimik’s Unsung Sariling Bayani Film Competition. She is passionate in telling socially and politically relevant stories through inspirations from Filipino culture. Saavedra also enjoys sound design in film as well as incorporating music in her stories.
