Writer / Director Srđan Stojanović was born in Belgrade, Serbia on May 13, 1971. As a 14 year old teenager he started making Super 8 and 16 mm films at Sarajevo's amateur film club "Words of Youth" (Riječi mladih). He won numerous awards for three of the five films he made during that period (1985 -1990). He continued making films professionally in Belgrade when at the age of 21 he wrote and directed the critically acclaimed short 35 mm film "The Elevator "(Lift, 1993). For production company "Fix Focus" (Fiks fokus) he directed 4 short films and his first feature length theatrically released film "Progressive Paranoia" (Progresivna paranoja, 1999), a critically acclaimed psychological thriller. He continued making films at "Academic Film Center" (Akademski filmski centar), when he directed two further feature length films: the melodrama "Three of a Kind" (Triling, 2005) and action drama "Turnover" (Obrt, 2012). His next two projects were long form documentary films made for „Film and ton“ (Film i ton) production: "Rebel With A Cause: Nikola Stojanović (1942 – 2021)", a critically acclaimed and award wining overview of his father's life and career (premiered at Martovski festival in Belgrade in 2024) and "Petrović, Miroslav Bata: Movies Out of Spite!"(to be released in 2026). He directed three music videos. He also wrote several hundred texts about movies for daily newspapers and magazines. Since 2014, he is a member of Association of Film Artists of Serbia (Udruženje filmskih umetnika Srbije, UFUS). Since 2021, he is also a member of Film Authors Association, UFUS - AFA Zaštita.
