Daniel de la Cruz is an independent regional filmmaker since 2019, focusing on Western Visayas culture and reimagined folktales. A member of the Guimbal Ifilm Society, a community-based independent filmmakers in the Philippines. He has participated and gained accolades in national film festivals like the 35th Gawad Alternatibo, Montañosa Film Festival, Mga Kwento ng Klima 2024, The Bantayan Film Festival 2025, etc. He is also a recipient of the Filipino Scriptwriter's Guild (FSG) Regional Scriptwriting Lab and a selected filmmaker for the Director’s Guild of the Philippines (DGPI) Film Pitch competition, both supported by the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP). Currently, de la Cruz served as a video producer for the Cultural Mapping of Panay, Guimaras, and Negros Islands.
