Zi Yu is a Chinese idol and actor born in Lianyungang, Jiangsu, China. He was formerly a member of the Chinese boy group Guanghe Shaonian, under Huakaibanxia Cultural Media. On December 8, 2022, Zi Yu revealed that he had been physically assaulted by a fellow group member and hinted at terminating his contract with the company. On January 8, 2023, he disclosed that the company had ordered him to pack up and leave. The following day, on January 9, he revealed on a side account that his main Weibo account had been taken over by the company. He later regained control of the account and proceeded to sue the company. On May 15, 2024, he released his first solo song "Ni Guo De Hai Hao Ma" to mark the beginning of a new chapter. In this release, he expressed a message of moving forward, saying not to look back and to let bygones be bygones.
