Juan Carlos Palazuelos Covarrubias, born in Culiacan, Sinaloa, is a Mexican Filmmaker. He is a graduate of the Bachelor's Degree in Audiovisual Media and Filmmaking at Centro de Arte Audiovisual CAAV in Guadalajara, Jalisco. He is the co-writer and co-director (alongside Ximena Flores Fregoso) of the short film “Beyond the Waves: The Ballad of Alba”, starring Ariel Award-winning actress Mayra Batalla and Stana Carrillo, and featuring the voice of legendary actress Angélica Aragón. He has worked as a Graphic Designer at Machete Producciones, making the official movie poster for “Jíkuri. Journey to the Land of the Tarahumara” (Cecchetti, 2024), as well as the alternative poster for the renowned “Huesera: The Bone Woman” (Garza Cervera, 2022). He has also worked as a Producer for the short film “De Mis Raíces” (Isaac, 2026) and as an Art Director on several projects, such as the short film “Alone” (Esquivel, 2025) and the award-winning official music video for the song "Séptimo" by French singer Agathe, directed by Anne-Sophie Charon.
