Peruvian documentary filmmaker, started his studies in audiovisuals in Lima and transferred to study film in the University of Utah. With a deep passion for storytelling, he uses film as a way to explore identity, language, and cultural memory. He began developing his first feature documentary, Runa Simi, in 2017, obtaining support from the Peruvian Ministry of Culture, the Sundance Documentary Fund among others. With this film he has participated in industry spaces such as IDFA Forum Rough Cut, Guadalajara WIP, DocsBarcelona, ChileConecta among others. World premiered at Tribeca, becoming the first Peruvian documentary to compete and he won the Albert Maysles Award for Best New Documentary Director.
