Axel Neumann (born December 12, 1966, in Säckingen) is a German actor. Axel Neumann grew up in Albbruck and began his acting career in 1988 at the "Die Färbe" theater in Singen, where he was later hired as a permanent ensemble member. In 1994, at the invitation of Wolfgang Engel, he moved to the Schauspielhaus Leipzig. Alongside his stage work, he also developed as a painter, presenting his works in various cities—including Leipzig, Innsbruck, and Berlin—since the early 1990s. In the late 1990s, Neumann increasingly shifted his focus to film and television productions, and has since appeared in numerous national and international projects. In doing so, he has collaborated with directors such as Leos Carax, Joseph Vilsmaier, and Sven Unterwaldt, among others. Neumann lives in Berlin.
