Eduard Bukhanets is a Ukrainian filmmaker based in the Netherlands, working across directing, cinematography, post-production and practical effects. He made his directorial debut with the short film After Me, which he wrote in July 2024 and began producing the following month with a small independent crew. Completed over six months alongside the team’s studies and professional commitments, the film was subsequently selected for international festivals and received awards for Best Young Male Filmmaker at Indie Short Fest and Best First-Time Filmmaker at the American Golden Picture International Film Festival. Following the film’s festival run, Bukhanets joined the Dutch Directors Guild. His latest project, the short horror film The Body, marks a further development of his work as a director and multidisciplinary filmmaker. In addition to directing the film, he contributed to its special effects and other areas of production. Bukhanets continues to build his career through independent filmmaking and collaboration across departments. His work is driven by atmospheric storytelling, strong visual concepts and a hands-on approach to production.
