He began his career as an assistant director, working with filmmakers like Alain Cavalier and Jacques Tati. Ribowski directed episodes for television series such as Médecins de nuit and Navarro. He also directed the film Une affaire d'hommes (1981). Ribowski's work often explores themes of justice and human relationships.
