Janiki, or Nicky, is a modern, trendy social media influencer. She was raised by her grandmother, Paatti, after both her parents died in a car accident. Paatti strictly adheres to tradition, etiquette and Indian customs. This difference creates conflict and comedy between a grandmother and her granddaughter because Nicky is absorbed in the lifestyle of a "social media influencer" busy "collecting" followers.
