CHAN LI HANG inspects the construction site. He meets the site supervisor, CHOW KA TSUN. They join force to put off the fire at the site and leave a deep impression on each other. TSUN takes care of his daughter, WAI MAN and his son, WAI KIT by himself. TSUN is very bad-temper, thus, he always quarrel with MAN. MAN obtained a reward in a youth beauty contest. TSUN scolds her. MAN leaves home and stay at her aunt, CHOW KA PIK's, home. HANG loves his wife, MAK YUEN YEE, deeply. YEE is pregnant. HANG takes very good care of her. HANG knocks a pedestrian down, the police charges him. He is in a very bad mood. With HO's instigation, HANG is dismissed.
