Ching gets acquainted with Wai. Finding that they share common interests, the two become close friend§. Wai's mother, Yuk Mui, runs a bar. Tsing and Wai take Ching there for a chat. When Mui first meets Ching, she treats the latter as her daughter-in-law. In order to match Wai and Ching, Mui asks the latter to help her renovate the bar. Learning from Wong Chuen that a gang is going to rob a jewelry workshop, Wai goes with his men to trap them. Ching asks Tsing to accompany her to watch a dance performance. Tsing misses the appointment when he is suddenly stopped by an ex-girlfriend, Mimi, who asks him to negotiate with a usurer for her. Tsing is curious about clinical psychology that Fong studies and offers to be mesmerized by her. Fong finds that Wu's condition is getting serious. Working with her brother, Chi Kin, Fang lies to the police that someone threatens to kill her. Thus, she takes the chance to pass Wu's data to Tsing for his investigation. Tsing concludes from clues that Wu is a psychotic killer and confirms it from Fong who is then forced to tell him the truth. Tsing and Fong try to trap Wu who foresees their act. Wu sues the two instead and makes complaints about Tsing to the police. Tsing is transferred to work in the office and he also deters Wai in his promotion. Ching apologizes for Tsing to Wai who then agrees to excuse him. Realizing that Ching treats Tsing as a brother, Wai decides to court her. Tsing fails to return Hong Kong on time and so he asks Wai to inform Fong about it. Fong immediately calls Tsing, asking him for an explanation. Tsing decides to interrogate Mok but is beat up by his men instead. Tsing misses the appointment with Mei. In a rage, Mei goes again to the disco to have fun with Wong. Wong lures Mei to take in LSD, the latter makes an attempt. Tsing comes in time to save Mei and he warns Wong. When Mei regains her consciousness, she insists that Tsing marries her immediately. Much annoyed, Tsing rejects her. Finding it hard to accept the fact, Mei leaves in a rage. To expand his business, Mok forces Wong to sell drugs. Wong is forced to agree to it. After taking in LSD, Mei fools around in the streets. Wong comes across her and takes her home. Though Wong is tempted to rape Mei, he gives it up fearing that Tsing would be after him. Wong perchance discovers that Mei comes from a well-off family. Hoping to cheat money out of her, Wong thus pretends to court her. The two quickly becomes lovers. Tsing decides to stop Mei from getting along with Wong……

Wong is reluctant to sell drugs for Mok and so he often finds excuses to reject him. On the other hand, Wai forces him to be his spy. Not wanting to go against Mok, Wong tries to avoid Wai. Mok sends his men to beat Wong up when he refuses to sell drugs to a youngster. Mei comes to his rescue and injures Mok. When Wong goes with Mei to apologize, Mok, in a rage, rapes her. Mei decides to kill herself but is stopped by Wong. Wong finds that Mei is sincere towards him and he truly falls in love with her. He then offers to work with Wai, pretending to work for Mok in order to gather evidence against him. Though knowing that Mok raped Mei, Wai is caught in a dilemma of telling Tsing the truth since he is working against Mok. Learning that Mok is going to make a big transaction of drugs, Wong informs Wai and Tsing so that they plan ahead to trap Mok……

Mei finds Wong and holds, the gun at him right away. When struggling, Wong seizes the gun and by accident injures Mei who then loses her consciousness. Scared, Wong decides to run away. Before he leaves, he wipes off all evidence and makes Tsing appear guilty of it. When Mei regain her consciousness, she suddenly comprehends everything and shoots herself. Seriously injured, Mei goes into a coma. Tsing becomes the-suspect and is suspended. convinced that Tsing is innocent, Wai, ignoring his seniors' objection, tries hard to clear him of the charge. Wong sneaks into the hospital and repents before Mei. However, she is still in coma. Discovering Wong's whereabouts, Wai and Tsing go arrest him but he- finally slips away. Finding no way out, Wong is forced to work with Wai to trap Mok. Mei regains her consciousness and comprises with Wong, starting a new life with him. Mei reveals that she attempted to kill herself, proving Tsing's innocence. Lam and Ching thus realize that Wai has been hiding the truth for fear that Tsing would act rashly. With the help of Lam and Ching, Tsing and Wai compromise with each other. Ching comes across an old friend, Fok Chun Wei, who then persuades her to join his company as designer. Thinking that his handsome, Fok is confident that he can win Ching's affection. However, Ching is unmoved. Occupied with her work, Ching often neglects Lam who then feels much lonely. Lan keeps him company and the two become intimate friends.

Ching is assigned to be responsible for an exhibition of curios. Knowing that the curios are costly, she spends much effort in matters of security which earns appreciation from Rosa, her manager. One day, Ching supervises the transport of gold buddha to the exhibition venue. On the way, Ching is frightened when some robbers seize the buddha and shoot a guard death. Ching blames herself for the guard's death and losing the buddha. She feels much guilty when Rosa rebukes her of insisting to have her own way of transport. To show self-reproach, Ching resigns. Rosa agrees to it while Fok asks her to stay. Ching is thus caught in a dilemma. Disovering that the security officer, Pak Wei Shun, is involved in the robbery, Wai and Tsing go to arrest him. Before they leave, they tell Ching and Fok about it, much to their delight. When Wai and Tsing find Pak, he has already killed himself, leaving the two doubting about the case.

Ching thinks that it is unlikely that Pak killed himself but she cannot find any evidence. Acting on her own, Ching keeps an eye on Fok and Rosa. Making use of Fok's affection on her, Ching secretly investigates the case. To get close to Fok, Ching often cancels her appointment with Wai. Thinking that Ching falls in love with another man, the two are on the verge of breaking up. Ching follows Fok and discovers that he ha~ an affair with Rosa. In fact, Fok has been pleasing Rosa who helps him to get promoted. He does not love her and when Ching gets on with him, he breaks up with her. Wai tries hard to re-unite with Ching but she keeps avoiding him, much to disappoint him.

Ching goes with Fok to his house in order to obtain useful information but she fails to get hold of any. Rosa disovers that ching and Fok are together and forces him to send her off. Rosa is in fact waiting in her car outside Fok's house and when Ching omes out, the former tries to knock her down. Ching is injured but she fails to see who the murderer is. Ching is sent to the hospital. When Wai and Tsing interrogate her, she has not yet calmed down and thus she fails to supply any useful clues. Fok reprimands Rosa for hurting Ching. Rosa frankly tells him that she is jealous of her and thus decides to injure her to give vent to her anger. Rosa then threatens to reveal that Fok works with her to rob the gold buddha and asks him to re-unite with her……

Rosa locks Ching up and intends to kill her. Wai comes in time to her rescue but he is injured by Rosa who is then shot to death by him. Ching is excused though rebuked by all for acting rashly. She re-unites with Wai and the two love each other more and more. Learning from his mistakes, Tsing beomes moye mature and performs well in his jobs. His seniors thus recommend him to take the examination for promotion. Ching perchance listen to Tsing's cassette tape and realizes that he still loves her. She then persuades him to give it up, much to his embarrassment. Pretending that he has come out of sorrow, Tsing wishes happiness to Ching and Wai. Lam learns that two robbers, Hui Tai and Cheung Ti Piu that he and Tsing's father arrested have been released from jail. Lam ~eels sad when he recalls that Tsing's father died in the job. Not wanting to give up, Fong returns to Hong Kong to find Tsing. Moved by her, Tsing begins to accept her.

Hui and Chung are penniless when released from jail. After much effort, they find out that their former partner, Ting Fu Sin, who made his escape and altered his name, has turned rich making use of the money that they robbed. The two thus decide to approach him. Hui and Cheung send men to frighten Ting. Not knowing the truth, Leung reports to the police. Knowing that the matter is serious, Ting approaches the police to close the case. Wai gets promoted and all celebrate for him. Seeing that Wai has established himself, Mui asks him to get married quickly. Wai thus proposes marriage to Ching who agrees to it. The two then happily make arrangements for their marriage. Hui and Cheung finally finds Ting and the two then asks for a large sum of money from him. Ting delays them on one hand and on the other, seeks help from Lam.

That year when assigned to arrest the robbers, Lam was responsible for Tsing's father's death because he was scared of death. Ting witnessed it and he now threatens Lam to help him. Not wanting to lose his reputation, Lam decides to kill Hui, Cheung and Ting. Ting is killed and Wai is assigned to investigate the case. Finding out that Ting is in fact one of the three robbers, Wai asks Lam for information but the latter tries to avoid the topic. On the other hand, Wai finds that the murderer is extremely cautious in his act and realizes that it is no easy job to crack the case. Lam is much worried that he would be arrested and thus he decides that after Wai and Ching get married, he would emigrate with Lan and spend peaceful days together. On the day of the marriage, Wai and Ching discover that Lam is in fact the murderer and ask him about it. Not wanting to spoil the occasion, Lam promises to explain to them in late night.

Finding that Wai looks strange, Ching secretly follows him. When she witnesses that Lam kills Wai in order to protect himself, Ching is shocked and faints. She hurts her brain in her falling. Tsing asks Ching about Wai's death but she has lost her memory. Mui grieves for her son's death and Lan fails to comfort her. Lam feels sorry for her but he regrets too late. Lam tests Ching and feels relieved when finding that she fails to recall anythin9 about the murder. In order to find out the truth about the murder, Tsing asks Fang to help Ching reover her memory but she fails. Ching's condition is even worsened.

Ching returns home and Tsing keeps her company all day, comforting her. Fong is jealous and disputes with him. Lan perchance finds that Lam is involved in the Murder and thus she- asks Fong to look into the matter. Fong and Tsing take Ching to the scene where Wai was murdered, helping her to recover her memory. When Ching is thinking hard, Lam comes to the scene. Thinking that Ching has revealed the truth, Lam decides to kill Fong and Tsing. Ching tries to stop him and injures him by accident. Ching recovers her memory and reports the truth to the police. lam is shocked and when he is sent to the hospital, he has turned insane. Losing her lover and father, Ching is all by herself.
