PO-CHEUNG is accused of inflicting grievous bodily harm upon FEI-FEI, who lapses into a coma after being pushed downstairs, so PO-TI goes to investigate. The intermediary - LAW KAI alleges that it is PO-CHEUNG who pushed FEI-FEI down, which is attested to by Auntie CHAT. In the face of the allegation, PO-CHEUNG does not reconcile himself to it, shouting that he has been vilified and accusing LAW-KAI of telling a pack of lies, so everybody is taken to the police station for investigation. Though knowing that the odds are against PO-CHEUNG, JO-JAN has to put up a smiling face to reassure PO-CHEUNG that he is capable of exculpating him over the accusation. TING-LUNG stops PO-TI from following up the case on the ground of conflict of interest. KAM JO-JAN and FONG TIN-LAM are cohabiting lovers, who have occupied the positions as a lawyer and a prosecutor respectively, leading pre-eminent roles in the legal profession. In the wake of sudden havoc wreaked by some hooligans who intend to collect a protection fee, KAM PO-CHEUNG, the owner of the flourishing CHEUNG CHEUNG Restaurant, erupts to fight against them, and then his two sons, JO-JAN and PO-TI, jointly scare off the hooligans. With a homicide case filed by the Department of Justice, TIN-LAM is in charge of the prosecution, whereas PO-TEI and his co-worker SHEUNG-KING go to the residence of the murder victim MOK WEI-FU, questioning his wife – SHE CHUK-CHING. When testifying in the case against PO-CHEUNG, FEI-FEI still claims that she could not remember anything in detail regarding what had happened. In order to revive her memory, JO-JAN plays a short video about her husband, causing FEI-FEI to lose total control of herself then is sent to the hospital. JO-JAN accompanies TIN-LAM to work as a volunteer in a Rehabilitation Centre for the Handicapped and the Elderly, and sees a group of juvenile gangsters bully a young girl, SUEN, who ends up dead. TIN-LAM is assigned to be in charge of the prosecution, but no eyewitness is willing to testify against the juvenile gang leader, CHUN-LIT, of murder. As such, the Department of Justice can only charge him with assisted suicide, which according to TIN-LAM is too trivial and unfair for the victim……

JO-JAN makes his appearance amongst the crowd with a bouquet of flowers in his hand, creating a huge stir. While everybody is expecting TIN-LAM to accept it, TIN-LAM instead pushes her way and runs away through the crowd. Having cooled down a bit, TIN-LAM makes an appointment to meet with JO-JAN first, yet she is still too reluctant to reveal her real doubts to him. With the swift spreading of the video of JO-JAN in the crowded street, he and TIN-LAM have become the talk of the town. KWOK CHING persuades TIN-LAM to take a break, though JO-JAN very much wanted to accompany her, he is turned down by TIN-LAM. PO-TI and the others are in disguise for the purpose of the investigation, during which TUNG-FAI passes by and sees MEI-SUN, but gets caught up in a shooting there. Upon his return to the restaurant, JO-JAN is informed by PO-TI of TIN-LAM's whereabouts in Cheung Chau, so he rushes there in search of her……

Misconstruing that TIN-LAM is seeing someone else, JO-JAN feels so gloomy that he leaves Cheung Chau. He then requests PO-TI and the others to go with him to have a drinking binge in the Karaoke, ending up heavily drunk. The next day, TIN-LAM, who has been comforted by KOO-TIN, intends to disclose everything to JO-JAN, yet the two instead start quarreling again. That evening, JO-JAN returns to TIN-LAM's home to pack personal belongings, following which the two finally break up. MEI-SUN attempts to move out and live alone as she constantly returns back home late due to her shift work, so YEE-HA rents PO-CHEUNG's vacant apartment for her daughter. JO-JAN opts to take up the position of Prosecutor in the Department of Justice, and his first task is to lodge a criminal charge of assault against a weakling, CHI-MAN, whereas the assault victim BIU is a very strapping guy……

Following a reckless driving charge lodged by the Traffic Branch against a celebrity in the city, PONG SAI-BONG, his sister TIT-SUM appoints CHUN-TO as his defense lawyer. With respect to his disadvantaged position during the prosecution process, JO-JAN decides to run the risk and suggests summoning HEI to testify at trial, leading to a successful completion of the prosecution against CHI-MAN. In spite of this, he is detested by TIN-LAM instead. SHEUNG-KING and the others do not know that MEI-SUN is actually from a wealthy family until there is a news report on the injuries suffered by TUNG-FAI. Since then, each of them has been planning on pursuing her. YIK-HANG, TAK-WAH and HONG-YIP are recruited as Legal Trainees of the Department of Justice, but they leave TIN-LAM a bad impression as TIN-LAM saw them leer at hot and voluptuous MO-CHI during their first encounter……

PO-TI and MEI-SUN finally manage to bring two wanted criminals under control, but to their surprise, TING-LUNG asks them to hand them over to the Organized Crime and Triad Bureau for further processing. As PO-TI and his colleagues are about to leave, they find out a female corpse that has been abandoned in the air conditioner slot located in the back alley. PO-TI and MEI-SUN make every effort to analyze the profile of the deceased, but to no avail. With JO-JAN and TIN-LAN unfolding their legal apprentice training program, TIN-LAM assigns MO-CHI as her assistant for attending a court trial, whereas JO-JAN requests YIK-HANG, in his stead, to inform Inspector CHAN to wait for a moment. However, YIK-HANG presumptuously analyzes the aggravated assault case with Inspector CHAN, ending up receiving a stiff reprimand from JO-JAN. KOO-TIN goes to have a word with JO-JAN, urging him not to give up his relationship with TIN-LAM……

MEI-SUN recalls that she once encountered an air-con repair technician. It turns out the technician is WUI-YAU, who used to work in the industrial building where CHAN KAI-NI was killed according to the investigation conducted by PO-TI and the others. Following WUI-YAU to the back alley around a street corner, MEI-SUN gets attacked and has a narrow escape. After PO-TI submits all the relative evidence to TIN-LAM, she concludes that it would not be enough to convict WUI-YAU. TIN-LAM's father, FONG CHING, suddenly returns from Australia to Hong Kong, which catches TIN-LAM unprepared. Having called her uncle, she comes to realize that the gradual deterioration of her father's Alzheimer has become more and more severe. She then invites JO-JAN back home for dinner, during which she not only frankly tells him about FONG CHING's current situation, but also asks him to pretend to be her lover again……

As TIN-LAM learns that there is enough evidence to try alleged WUI-YAU for murder, KWOK CHING also mentions JO-JAN's attempt to seek to overturn WAT PING-YUEN's conviction, which TIN-LAM thinks that JO-JAN is just being competitive. Getting the message that FONG CHING went to PO-CHEUNG's home, TIN-LAM is very cautious and avoids irritating him face to face due to his Alzheimer disease. It has been three years since CHUN-TO last confronted JO-JAN in court. Though this time JO-JAN requests an eyewitness, Hawker FOOK, to testify in court, CHUN-TO attacks FOOK's testimony and discredits it. JO-JAN gets informed that PING-YUEN has attempted suicide for the second time, and is met with a scathing rebuke from PING-YUEN's parents for humiliating their son in public, to which JO-JAN has nothing to say. JO-JAN and TIN-LAM run through the details of the case all over again, and get a sudden inspiration……

In celebration of JO-JAN's success in having had PING-YUEN's felony conviction overturned, KOO-TIN and FONG CHING intend to grasp the chance, bringing JO-JAN and TIN-LAM back together. Feeling that she cannot take it anymore, TIN-LAM makes some excuse and leaves, but is proactively followed by JO-JAN. Getting informed by some friends, YIK-HANG relays the secret love between JO-JAN and TIN-LAM to all trainees, who are rather dubious about it afterwords. PO-TI once again sees Gigolo WAH harassing MAN YING in the park, so he bravely goes to help MAN YING out of trouble, during which MAN YING looks tremendously astonished after accidentally seeing PO-TI's birthmark on his waist. Inspector LEUNG KIN-PAK of the Narcotics Bureau seeks the Crimes Unit's assistance in conducting an investigation on a drugs syndicate, and it turns out that KIN-PAK and PO-TI knew each other a long time ago……

After PO-TI and KIN-PAK failed to capture TUNG-HING and his co-conspirators in one fell swoop, KIN-PAK proposes getting an undercover to disguise as a drug dealer, so HOK-LIK offers himself to take up the mission. TIN-LAM and JO-JAN conduct assessments of all trainees, in the hope of cherry-picking one to assist Sr Prosecutor CHAN in the court hearing. Considering herself superior to everyone else, LAI-SHAN believes that she can get the chance, yet JO-JAN selects MO-CHI, for which LAI-SHAN cannot help satirizing MO-CHI. Being informed by HOK-LIK that TUNG-HING is about to make a drug deal, KIN-PAK dashes to the scene. Unfortunately, upon his arrival, he sees TUNG-HING fire a gun at HOK-LIK. PO-TI gets a phone call from KIN-PAK, who urges PO-TI to bring reinforcements to the village house. As soon as PO-TI arrives, KIN-PAK claims that TUNG-HING has fled and left behind the drugs after trading gun fire with them……

PAK-WANG subpoenas TUNG-HING's girlfriend WAI and a security guard to appear in the trial and give testimonies, which, according to TIN-LAM, pertains to issues that are held in doubt. Having cast doubts on some minor ones, TIN-LAM decides to file an application to KWOK CHING for a site survey. Making an appointment with KIN-PAK to meet up in the Department of Justice, TIN-LAM raises her doubts yet gets nothing but ridicule from KIN-PAK, whose face is livid with anger and he even takes off. KIN-PAK and PO-TI then go to a trading company to have a word with the man in charge, TONY, coercing him to disclose the robbery attempted by TUNG-HING. Furthermore, they are determined to dig out the truth from TONY unconventionally……

With KIN-PAK being stormed with TIN-LAM's questions in the court hearing, TUNG-HING cannot help laughing up his sleeve, thinking it will exculpate him from the charge. Having learnt from a TV news report that the greatest meteor shower of the last hundred years is about to kick off in the sky, JO-JAN invites SHEUNG-YUET to go and see the display with him. YIK-HANG and HONG-YIP guess that JO-JAN has stayed out the whole night without returning to his home, which is overheard by TIN-LAM, who seems to be pissed off. PO-TI needs to attend a court hearing once again, but gets delayed due to some minor issues. In contrast, this time, MAN YING tries every possible means to show her care instead of blaming him. Following a wild media coverage of an accidental leakage of confidential police documents, TING-LUNG frankly admits that it was due to his negligence……

Worrying about breast cancer recurrence, TIN-LAM immediately makes an appointment with KOO-TIN to get a thorough health-check. KOO-TIN in turn suspects that the chest pain suffered by TIN-LAM may stem from her psychological blowback rather than physical disability. Following KAI-SIN's suggestion of meeting up with PO-TI on Mother's Day, MAN YING is overwhelmed with joy and goes to the restaurant, waiting for PO-TI, but encounters the heart-warming scene when PO-TI and PO-CHEUNG's family members are celebrating. While MEI-SUN senses MAN YING's weird reaction, MAN YING has no choice but to reveal the reason. So MEI-SUN tries to get PO-CHEUNG to talk, who indicates that he does not mind if PO-TI resumes contact with his biological mother. Upon PO-TI's return, he sees that MAN YING and KAI-SIN pay a visit. During the visit, PO-CHEUNG unveils their real intention……

TIN-LAM feels agitated after seeing that SHEUNG-YUET and JO-JAN have gradually become closer to each other day after day. Having carefully weighed TIN-LAM's words and expressions, KOO-TIN resorts to help her fight off her love rival. Following SHEUNG-YUET, KOO-TIN is instead mistaken as a stalker, fortunately, he gets out of the trouble with SHEUNG-YUET's help. As the prosecutor of the rape case against SAI-BONG, JO-JAN is determined to seek justice for MO-CHI. In spite of having her reputation blackened by CHUN-TO due to her humble beginnings in the court hearing, MO-CHI is still able to stay strong, firmly controlling her emotions. Upon the completion of the first trial, JO-JAN is inflamed with rage, going to hit baseball in a baseball practice field. Though staying alongside with him, SHEUNG-YUET cannot help feeling bored, so she accepts KOO-TIN's invitation, going to enjoy a foot massage. As soon as he learns about JO-JAN being alone in the baseball practice field, KOO-TIN schemes to guide TIN-LAM there to accompany JO-JAN. SAI-BONG, PAK-WANG together with the others go to hang out in a pub. Later when SAI-BONG steps out of the pub, he bumps into VINCENT, a retail seller of red wine, who discloses that he took some short videos of SAI-BONG and MO-CHI struggling with each other……

Under MEI-SUN’s request, PO-TI agrees to meet up with MAN YING, who is thrilled with joy. However MAN YING is so eager to compensate PO-TI, making him feel pretty embarrassed. VINCENT gets subpoenaed to attend as a witness for the rape case involved with SAI-BONG, though his statement about what had happened is too vague, JO-JAN still manages to nail down the solid evidence, prosecuting SAI-BONG. SHEUNG-YUET accompanies JO-JAN to work overtime, but it turns out to be annoying the latter. Later while she goes to learn how to ski with KOO-TIN in an indoor ski slope, out of the blue, the two develop some affection between each other. Suddenly MO-CHI receives an anonymous email, indicating that the sender knew everything about what had happened to her. According to PO-TI’s investigation, the sender is actually one of the participants from the party……

MO-CHI looks gaunt and emaciated as she leaves the court with her mother SHUK-NGO, who blames herself for being a drag on her daughter and bursts into tears. Seeing that JO-JAN’s faith in upholding justice has been shaken, TIN-LAM tries to console him. CHUN-TO endeavours to invite TIT-SUM out for dinner, but TIT-SUM tactfully turns down his invitation. Nevertheless, CHUN-TO is obsessed with her show of reluctance. PO-TI tries to show his care for MEI-SUN whenever and wherever possible, so MEI-SUN takes the initiative and invites PO-TI to dine out. During that time, she gets straight to the point, revealing the fact that she has already a boyfriend, at which PO-TI is struck with dismay……

TIN-LAM passes by a street where she sees KOO-TIN and SHEUNG-YUET appear very close to each other, later, she goes to question KOO-TIN. On their way home, PO-TI and MEI-SUN get informed about the alleged burglary in the Envirosum Building. While conducting an investigation, PO-TI gets injured after being attacked. Learning that PO-TI has been injured, MAN YING dashes to the hospital right away to visit him, who seems to be utterly confused and disconcerted. The next day, PO-TI goes to follow up the alleged burglary case in the Envirosum Building, where he comes across the team from the Commercial Crime Division, who is going to Envirosum Development for the investigation. KOO-TIN exhorts JO-JAN to pursue TIN-LAM all over again, and he even reveals TIN-LAM's family history of genetic disease to JO-JAN, who becomes startled after hearing that……

TIT-SUM introduces herself once again when she sees SZE-CHUNG and his wife dining at a hotel under her company group. Later SZE-CHUNG meets a young escort service girl in the elevator, but the girl foams at mouth and faints after SZE-CHUNG has sex with her. Out of despair, SZE-CHUNG has to seek assistance from TIT-SUM. The Envirosum stocks fraud scandal costs many petty citizens their life savings, including PO-CHEUNG's employee Brother CHU and YEE-HA's son, who are both heavily laden with debt. As such, PO-CHEUNG and those people affected jointly go on strike in protest at the office of the Pong Sing Group, but end up getting involved in a class action lawsuit. LAI-SHAN and TIN-YAN find out that someone put intimate pictures up on the internet, where MO-CHI has been subject to the innuendo……

JO-JAN and PO-TI return home after work, simultaneously, YEE-HA and MEI-SUN arrive at PO-CHEUNG's home to pay a visit. All of a sudden, following the doorbell ringing, PO-CHEUNG rushes in with injuries all over his body. After SHEUNG-KING and MOR-SZE discover that TIT-SUM's vehicle once appeared in the crime scene, PO-TI and the others carry out a search in TIT-SUM's house, but they are unable to find the vehicle in the garage. Though presuming that TIT-SUM must have deliberately hidden the vehicle, there is little they could do. As everyone is looking hopelessly out of their depth, PO-TI suddenly has an inspiration that SZE-CHUNG and TIT-SUM are very close. Yet SZE-CHUNG's wife indicates that she cannot get in contact with her husband, stating clearly that another group of people are also looking for SZE-CHUNG. Having heard this, MEI-SUN and PO-TI sense that something has gone wrong……

TIT-SUM is scared stiff after hearing that CHUN-TO killed someone for her. Under TAI-WAI's request, MEI-SUN applies to transfer to work at the Police Public Relations Bureau with fixed working hours. Having heard about it, everyone in the Crimes Unit is very reluctant to part. JO-JAN accompanies TIN-LAM and leaves the hospital, all of a sudden, he hears a phone ringing which resembles the unique ring-tone of PO-CHEUNG's mobile phone. Moreover, he sees an old guy WONG KAN going aboard a mini-bus with a mobile phone in his hand. Having come to realize the real intention behind TIT-SUM's determination to run over PO-CHEUNG by car and kill him, PO-TI detains TIT-SUM back to the police station to assist the investigation. In the midst of a court hearing, JO-JAN gets informed that PO-CHEUNG is in a critical condition……

JO-JAN has resigned from his job as the Prosecutor of the Department of Justice so that he can represent CHUN-TO as his defense lawyer. However TIT-SUM maintains her position of innocence, making PO-TI and the others gnash their teeth in anger. Using an unconventional way to deal with TIT-SUM, JO-JAN keeps bothering her until she can bear no more. Later TIT-SUM flies into a rage after having found out that a commentator has left a defamatory message on the online bulletin board of her company's website. All of a sudden, TIN-LAM's father vanishes into thin air, and TIN-LAM is so worried that she goes with JO-JAN in search of him. Having located the whereabouts of FONG CHING, JO-JAN exhorts TIN-LAM to show her understanding and sympathy for her father. After knowing that JO-JAN has harassed TIT-SUM, TIN-LAM points out that JO-JAN should avoid ruining his own career for a momentary slip-up……

JO-JAN notices that PO-TI is disappointedly looking at the smiley face drawing left behind by MEI-SUN and cannot bear her leaving, so he encourages PO-TI to win over her heart. After hearing that, PO-TI seems lost in thought. MO-CHI is assigned to be in charge of the prosecution in one case, and it turns out that the victim is SAI-BONG. In order to express his sincerity, YIK-HANG particularly goes to MO-CHI's roof-top studying room, unveiling his deepest feelings to her. PO-TI informs MEI-SUN that he is not able to attend her wedding ceremony, which makes MEI-SUN feel a bit disconsolate. While PO-TI and his team members are trading gun fire with felons, they see MEI-SUN show herself in the fierce battle. JO-JAN leads TIN-LAM to Lantau Island in search of FONG CHING. As TIN-LAM cannot understand why her father insists on going up to the hill, JO-JAN reveals that he is just keeping his promise……
