Hong dislikes to live with Fling and lives elsewhere. Ngor knows that life is not easy and works as a street sweeper. Ka Hing aims at reforming the department store so as to rebuild his image. However, Tai Kwen opposes it as the cost for propaganda is too great. Conflict arises. Lam sympathizes and encourages Hing. Hing tries to get rid of his sorrow by drinking. Though Lam is accused of murder, she still wants to help Fung staying in Hong Kong. Hong discovers that his right foot is handicapped and is very angry. He even accused Lam and Fung wrongfully. Hong forces Ngor to give evidence on court. Ngor denies Hong to be Kwan's son. Hong then quarrels with Ngor when they have left the court. Ngor carelessly meets an traffic accident and dies.
