During this long and adventurous journey over land, they search for stories about the complex relationship between humans and animals. Jasper takes impressive pictures of this adventure, while Floortje talks to the people. The first destination of the trip is Romania. Here Floortje and Jasper meet the passionate Cristina, who with her foundation is committed to taking care of bears that have been rescued from appalling conditions or can no longer live in the wild.

Jasper and Floortje wonder what will happen to the animals in a city where there has been so much fighting. In the old zoo of Mosul, Floortje hears the story about bear Lula and lion Simba, who were rescued from the war-torn city in 2017. In the south of Iraq, Floortje and Jasper visit the special swamp area and its inhabitants.
