However, they soon have to rethink their ideas when they learn that the £350,000 they have budgeted for does not stretch very far in an area populated by the extremely wealthy, with house prices to match.

However, while the pair have an impressive budget of three-quarters of a million to play with, it soon becomes apparent that they have very different priorities - while Neal wants to live closer to his family and his beloved Middlesborough Football Club, Kerry, who is giving up work to be a full-time parent, is afraid of being isolated and wants to live on an estate with other young families.

Stunning Irish farmhouses are discovered, but the couple are also keen to keep a foothold in the UK housing market and consider purchasing a buy-to-let in St Albans for £250,000
