But after scenes which Delia can only describe as being 'like the Crimean War' is there any chance that Chintu can claim the £1000 prize?

It's day one of the competition in the picturesque town of Bath, and first up to host is posh girl about town Liv Sargeant. Liv decides to kick things off with a sophisticated evening, complete with black tie dress code, which goes down better with some guests than others. The complete strangers that Liv has to win over are vegetarian ex-raver Mel Lewis-Leger; sandwich fanatic Becky Tyler; French patriot and food snob Denis Verrier, and finally local handyman Jon Wicheard, a man with simple tastes.
