MAK TAI-SONG has been getting some hassle from the kid sitting beside him during his flight. He makes a complaint to the flight attendant and manages to get a flight upgrade for the rest of the journey. Later SONG finds that the hotel he is going to stay in is jam-packed with tourists. Without much difficulty, he successfully gets the hotel manager to serve him first. Debt collection agent LAM MIU-MIU sneaks into a party venue and makes one of the debtors give her a check in settlement of the arrears. The hotel SONG is living in ceases to operate suddenly. The man is then moved to a community center with the rest of the hotel residents. SONG lodges a complaint to the new head of the hotel, TONG PAK-TAK, and even gives his son TONG KAT some advice on how to turn the business around. After MIU has transferred the debt from LIN to SONG, SONG suddenly shows up saying that he has already moved from the hotel. To facilitate the future settlement, MIU persuades him to rent the flat next to hers. SONG thus gets to know MIU’s father CHUNG-CHAI. SONG gets LIN a job in a noodle restaurant. LIN explains to others that SONG used to be a business partner of her late husband HO MAN- TIN and that he has been looking out for her family in every possible way ever since the disappearance of TIN. MIU forces SONG to settle the arrears during the night. TIN’s mother SIU-CHIU shows SONG’s passbook to MIU secretly, hoping that this will make her understand how poor SONG really is. MIU has pressed a debtor so badly that he is about to jump off a building. SONG has witnessed everything and gives MIU a severe telling-off for being too cruel, eventually offering the debtor a perfect opportunity to slip away……

MIU goes to visit her brother MUK-SUM, who currently works as a senior executive for a large rice supplier. MIU asks SUM to take up the post of CEO with the noodle restaurant and SUM, thinking that he has been undervalued all these years by the company, accepts the offer right away. Upon joining the noodle restaurant, SUM introduces a series of reforms including extension of working hours and development of a new set of staff regulations. TAK and KAT suggest SONG use the wine cellar as his office and they finally manage to convince him to help with KAT’s urban redevelopment project. SUM and his wife WAH KIU go to the noodle restaurant for a site visit, during which they give their father a lecture on a number of things. Knowing that the noodle restaurant is one of the premises involved in the redevelopment project, SUM and KIU go to see KAT at a nightclub……

SUM states that he has decided, in his capacity of CEO, to sell the noodle restaurant, soon after which MIU announces her proposal to dismiss him. The noodle restaurant experiences a significant growth in business after its renovation and has gained an exceptionally good reputation for the quality of its food and service. TAK who is so concerned about the progress of the redevelopment project is putting increasing pressure on KAT and SONG. SONG has no choice but to do something about it. SONG invites all the property owners to a meeting with TAK, during which no one shows support for the idea of acquisition. MIU discovers that TO is actually a friend of SONG’s. MIU asks SONG for investment tips but is rejected. What surprises her most is that SONG has teamed up with SUM in secret in an effort to convince CHAI to sell his noodle restaurant……

MIU takes SONG’s advice and agrees to go on a date with KAT. MIU gets scared by KAT’s overwhelming passion and gives him a slap as soon as she feels offended. As instructed by SONG, KAT objects to TAK’s proposal in the meeting and unexpectedly wins his praise and recognition. SUM and KIU would like to move back with CHAI after they have sold their apartment in exchange for money to finance the establishment of KIU’s property agency. MIU and her colleagues ask to be SONG’s apprentices and offer to clean up his place in an attempt to please the man. SONG drives everyone out of the flat and many loving memories of TIN come flooding back soon afterwards. CHIU has injured her leg, so LIN has to rely on SONG to look after her. SONG who decides to investigate the death of TIN tries in vain to get a clue from CHIU……

As CHIU is about to sell the scrap paper to PUN, MIU shows up and is shocked to run into PUN again on this occasion. While they were still an item, MIU and PUN had owned an environmental technology company. MIU put all her savings into the project but it turned out to be a total failure. MIU is surprised to see PUN on the rooftop of the building where she lives. Immediately she goes to ask SONG for an explanation and SONG points out that PUN’s waste paper collection project is going to be commercially viable. MIU goes up to the rooftop for a meeting with PUN and SONG but is shocked to see a gang of tramps gathering around. To her surprise, SONG and PUN refer to the tramps as recycling experts and their future staff. PUN and MIU have an argument over the direction of the company. SONG gives MIU a few words of comfort and soon comes to discover her true relationship with PUN……

MIU goes to spy on SONG but can hardly wait to show up when SONG fails to reveal the truth to LIN. Noticing how upset SONG is, MIU offers to lend a sympathetic ear to him. Fearing that SONG will sooner or later declare his love for her, LIN has been trying to avoid him. MIU is going to run the company alone. SONG has no choice but to go and find PUN in the refuse dump in an attempt to convince him to rethink his decision. PUN points out that his research is not appreciated by big enterprises and SONG finally offers to tell him the truth. MIU is so worried about the business that she decides to turn to KAT again for help. With the collaboration of SONG, MIU, PUN and the tramps, the company has finally generated some revenue to cover the rent, which is seen as a very encouraging sign to all. MIU is going to buy a luxurious handbag but is stopped by PUN. MIU gets so angry with him and goes off in a huff……

SONG and MIU are shocked to hear that their company has been burglarized. They hurry back to have a look and discover that the drawer has been broken and the money inside stolen. SONG suggests holding a barbecue for the staff, through which he hopes to find out who on earth has stolen the money. PUN would like to rent a place and turns to MIU for advice on all matters. MIU and PUN go out together, during which MIU has to struggle hard to curb her shopaholic tendencies. MIU discovers that an American enterprise has shown some interest in PUN’s research studies. Accompanied by SONG, MIU goes to visit PUN’s new home and is astonished to see that the place is actually arranged according to her taste and needs. MIU cannot keep the secret any more and finally decides to confide in SONG. MIU tries to make a poorly run kindergarten settle its debts and the principal Ms LUK asks her to extend the payment deadline……

Everybody is back home for dinner. CHIU is so careless that she has forgotten to turn off the gas and the dishes turn out to be overcooked. Instead of taking the blame herself, CHIU attributes the problem to SONG. LIN and SONG start to worry about CHIU. As a result, LIN decides to take CHIU to the doctor while SONG will accompany KIT to the kindergarten admission interview. SONG takes KIT to the kindergarten concerned for the interview, where he meets the principal Ms GIGI LUK. CHIU takes KIT to the school but LIN and SONG who do not really trust her have to follow her along the way. CHIU has suddenly disappeared. SONG asks around to look for her, in the course of which he gets to know the head officer of an elderly care home, Ms VIVIAN NG. SONG manages to convince VIVIAN to let him and CHIU stay at the elderly care home. LIN and MIU go to visit CHIU but CHIU fails to recognize them. SONG tries hard to console LIN……

SONG describes himself as a secret millionaire and tries to woo VIVIAN with a big diamond ring. KAT would like to give VIVIAN a hand so that the elderly care home can be brought back to prosperity. MIU recognizes his intention and offers to take the job. In order to prove his claim that all the girls around KAT are after his money, SONG tries to tempt GIGI with a big diamond ring, as he did with VIVIAN. His plan, however, is thwarted by VIVIAN who shows up suddenly. MIU is so desperate to increase the intake of kindergarten students that she has decided to give up on the natural education philosophy advocated by GIGI and go for elite education programs. The senior citizens of the elderly care home get so disappointed when realizing that their families only aim at the redeemed gift vouchers while the harsh teaching method adopted by the kindergarten turns out to be a failure after a student faints away in a test……

VIVIAN and GIGI are furious to learn that KAT has been cheating on them. They throw a terrible tantrum and stomp off in anger. Not wanting to see the project collapse, SONG decides to give the girls a lecture. VIVIAN and GIGI turn up suddenly telling SONG that they would not mind sharing the same boyfriend. MIU feels a bit uneasy and decides to give SONG a hand. When she arrives, LIN who is keen to protect SONG is giving the girls a severe telling-off. MIU points out to SONG that LIN seems to have fallen in love with him and this really gives the man a fright. MIU has managed to clear her debts and can finally leave her job as a debt collection agent. CHAI would like to hand over the running of the noodle restaurant to MIU and will need her to learn how to make noodles. LIN goes to a concert with SONG, in the course of which she has been looking for a chance to make a confession of love while SONG is trying hard to avoid her……

To pull SONG out of his trouble, MIU turns to CHO, a drama fanatic, for help. MIU asks LIN out for a chat, during which she reveals that a TIN look-alike is reported to have shown up recently in New York and that CHO is allegedly the source of information. CHO’s twin sister PO has returned to Hong Kong. Upon discovering in the meeting that there are quite a number of duplicate posts, PO proposes deleting the redundant ones by implementing a layoff. SONG pretends to have bumped into CHO’s father SING-YIN in the hospital so that he can tell him about PO’s layoff plan. YIN is a conservative gentleman and is reluctant to see anything as bad as layoffs. PO’s proposal is therefore rejected……

SONG is reminiscing about his days with his mother. All of a sudden, he asks MIU to stay with him for three days and he promises to teach her everything he knows in return if his request is granted. CHO works as hard as he can and finally manages to achieve recognition from his teammates. MIU tries to satisfy SONG in the best possible way. SONG talks in his sleep and MIU learns from his utterances that she is actually supposed to play his mother instead of his ex-girlfriend over these days. MIU finds this so offending that she is resolved to give him a lecture. By making use of SUM in the meeting, SONG gets a chance to ask PO about the possibility of moving CHO back to the central office. Upon his return to the central office, CHO realizes that SUM behaves differently when confronted with PO and himself. All he has been going through finally makes him understand the intricacies of office politics……

CHO is shocked to hear that the biggest rice supplier in Thailand CHATCHAI is set to sign a deal with their serious rival in the industry. As suggested by SONG, CHO is going to try and gets CHATCHAI to change his mind by making use of his well-honed acting skills. CHING claims that SONG is her son but SONG denies it. CHO sees SONG wandering the streets and offers to approach him for a chat, during which SONG opens up to CHO about his childhood. CHING asks SONG out for a drink and explains to him why she had to leave him at such a young age. LEO, the son of the famous international speculator HUNTER, arrives in Hong Kong and speaks in public about his optimistic outlook for the development of the rice industry. LEO goes to meet CHO at Gourmet’s Rice Company to discuss the acquisition proposal, which however is rejected by PO without hesitation. The price of the rice distributed by LEO’s company has reduced significantly……

Not happy with PO’s work and personal life, YIN has had a serious argument with her. He gets so worked up that he slips into a faint suddenly and has to be sent to the hospital for evaluation. YIN decides to leave the post of CEO vacant and PO is demoted as SUM’s assistant subsequently. CHING tries to comfort PO with soothing words but ends up picking a quarrel with her. On KIU’s recommendation, PO nominates SUM as the Acting CEO. SUM reveals that a big enterprise is planning to invest in the rice company. SONG gives CHO a few words of warning, eventually alerting him to the fact that the enterprise SUM is talking about is actually LEO’s business partner. CHO and SONG thus go to stop the project at once. CHO berates PO, who is said to have been using SUM as a puppet, for betraying Gourmet’s Rice Company. PO tries to prove her innocence but in vain……

YIN suddenly shows up while the meeting is in progress. His appearance makes CHO even more nervous and awkward than ever. YIN gives CHO a good telling-off for his lack of preparation but CHO insists that it is a deliberate set-up by SONG. YIN is infuriated by CHO’s words. He faints away with outrage and is sent to the hospital at once. Despite CHO’s opposition, YIN has decided to appoint SONG as the CEO. CHO and PO are miraculously reconciled with each other in their fight against SONG and his oppression. SONG asks to see SUM in the middle of the night. Not wanting SUM to sacrifice sleep for work, MIU offers to attend the meeting on behalf of her brother. MIU cannot sleep at all at night. As she goes on pondering about what has happened lately, she gradually comes to realize that she has fallen in love with SONG. Sadly when she is confronted by SONG, she gets too shy to express her love for him……

As CHO and PO are busy selling the new product in the meeting, YIN turns up suddenly. He gives CHO and PO a smile and goes on to explain that this is all planned by him and SONG. KAT suddenly comes to see SONG, revealing that he has lost a great of money in the stock market and gets kicked out of the mansion by TAK. KIU points out to her husband and father-in-law that MIU has fallen in love with SONG. Thrilled by the news, CHAI and SUM have then devised a plan to match MIU up with SONG. CHAI and his friends suggest holding a graduation dinner for SONG on behalf of MIU. Before heading for the restaurant, SUM needs SONG to put on a suit. The graduation dinner turns out to be a huge disappointment for MIU. After that MIU decides to invest in KIU’s property agency in a bid to prove that she can still survive and succeed without SONG……

TIN suddenly shows up and asks SONG to introduce him to TAK and KAT. TIN, SONG, TAK and KAT make a thorough analysis of KAT’s investment failure and finally come to the conclusion that it is probably CHUNG CHING-LUNG, TAK’s long-term rival, who has trapped KAT. TIN is hired as a consultant for Wu Shi Enterprises Group. MIU is so keen to prove her ability that she has tried every possible way to get rid of all the low-end properties. TIN wanders around an old district looking for properties, during which he bumps into MIU and befriends her. TIN points out to TAK that Wu Shi should start to invest in the property market and work on urban renewal projects. SUM learns about the urban renewal projects somehow and breaks the news to KIU soon afterwards. MIU asks to be the sole mediator in the urban renewal projects and her request is surprisingly granted by TIN……

Knowing that he has no more chance of taking over the running of the noodle restaurant, CHOI gets so depressed. SONG makes some nasty sarcastic comments about CHOI, which infuriate the lad so much that he gives SONG a punch in the face. SONG’s nose starts to bleed heavily within seconds. KAT offers to look after SONG following the fight, during which he asks SONG why he has to take all the blame and whether he is in love with MIU. Later in the night, SONG confides to a cactus his love for MIU. MIU overhears his confession of love and presses him for an explanation. MIU takes SONG’s advice and agrees to “try” dating him. MIU tries to persuade some of the property owners to sell their homes, in the course of which she discovers that SUM and KIU have secretly acquired a number of flats. TIN says he would like to introduce SONG to a man, who turns out to be TAK’s long-term rival LUNG……

With the special allowance approved by TAK, TIN can finally bring his family back to Hong Kong. SONG asks TIN to terminate his plan but TIN refuses. All TIN can do is to arrange a meeting between SONG and LUNG so that SONG can talk to LUNG directly. During an internal meeting with the Wu Shi management, TIN shows a couple of photos of SONG and LUNG, making others believe that SONG is the one who has betrayed Wu Shi. SONG is dismissed and the urban renewal projects are put on hold. SUM and KIU who have borrowed from a loan shark to support the purchase of properties have dragged themselves into heavy debts. MIU offers to repay the debts for her brother and sister-in-law. SONG asks to meet with TIN, during which he urges TIN to stop his plot against Wu Shi and threatens to disclose the evidence of his wrongdoing if he refuses. LIN is concerned about TIN’s strange behavior and asks to have a word with SONG about that……

SUM and KIU regret losing all of CHAI’s savings and assets. They kneel down and make a formal apology to CHAI and CHAI is generous enough to forgive them. During their chat on the rooftop, SONG suddenly presents a “Wedding Band Coupon” to MIU. As MIU is overwhelmed with joy at his proposal, SONG asks her to rehearse what they would say upon their break-up. MIU is seriously offended by SONG’s attitude and asks to terminate their relationship. Wu Shi has fallen into TIN’s trap and is faced with an unprecedented financial crisis. SONG hurries back to Wu Shi’s head office and is shocked to hear that the Group has acquired a debt-stricken enterprise on TIN’s advice. Wu Shi’s reputation has been badly tarnished by this incident. SONG steps in as a white knight to rescue Wu Shi with a series of emergency proposals. TIN teams up with TAK’s right-hand man HUGO and makes him engage in fraud and illegal dealings……
