While K.D Phatak is at a newsstand buying a newspaper, a strange thing happens to him. He meets a man named Jayant Kirani and starts talking to him about a certain case. Jayant says that a person has murdered the previous night and his wife, Shivani is seen as a major suspect and is arrested. Before going back, he mentions that the person who was murdered was himself. The newspaper seller calls out the K.D. Phatak asking who he was talking to as there was no one around them.
