Episode 1
DR. KONG TUNG-KIN explains to a patient the effect of his medication. KONG WAI-MUI, his nurse, who is also his step-sister, urges him to hurry up. Keeping KIN in the dark, MUI refers the patient to the Chinese medical practitioner next door. SUNG CHOR-KIU, the Chinese medical practitioner, is no one else but her mother. KIN’s father, KONG CHI-TAT, visits KIN’s mother, KAM WAH-HEI. TAT is rude to HEI. HEI has been tyrannized by MUI all these years. KIN blames TAT for fooling around. After some negotiation, FUNG agrees not to take KIN’s life for the time being. FUNG is taken aback later when FUNG becomes his neighbor. FUNG wants to take HEI’s life. KIN stops him right away. FUNG demands KIN to give him a name in two day. FUNG suggests TIN. KIN gives it a thought. TONG WING-SUN, TIN’s son, appears with FUNG. FUNG claims he is able to make TIN support KIN’s project again as well as change his view on him. Not soon afterwards, TIN visits KIN at the laboratory. SAU-WAN and FOOK-TSUEN both think it is a good opportunity for them to make public and promote their family prescription. HEI has fallen ill in mainland China. KIN and FONG go to see her as soon as they hear about the news. TAT gets back his mainland travel permit with the help of FUNG. KIU, TSUEN and SUN have a meeting with TIN. The memories of how KIN caused the death of FUNG’s father as well as his family tragedy come back vividly to FUNG. FUNG had tried to knock over and kill KIN, but he failed and got seriously injured instead. He did not die though. With the assistance of a demon he began his revenge plan. FONG and KIN goes to HEI’s for supper. HEI urges them to tie the knot, embarrassing them both. KIN is suffering from fatigue and a fever. FONG visits FUNG, offering to hand over her life on the condition that he spares KIN’s. FUNG refuses at first but her constant begging moves him. He agrees to take her soul to the hell in the end. KIN cannot believe it when FONG suggests that they get married. Looking at them, FUNG knows that his revenge plan is now entering another phase.

FONG and MUI have found out about KIN’s plan. They make a dash for the hut where KIN is keeping FUNG but he stops them. When KIN learns about FUNG’s background, he changes his mind and saves him instead. SUN suggests assigning the dementia drug project to DR. MAN. TIN encourages him to go out with DR. MAN when he knows that they have a crush for each other. A patient has sent KIN a thank-you card. It rings a bell to KIN, and he remembers at last that TOI CHI-KEUNG is FUNG and YAN’s father. MUI wants to make up with FUNG. He does not know whether to laugh or cry. FONG has a stomach ache. Believing that KIU’s medicine is to blame, HEI reasons with KIU.
