YIN gets along very well with MO and his half sister. He thanks CHEUNG and the two have become closer to each other. REN borrows money from KELLY again. AH comes and drives him away. AH tells KELLY to stand up to REN. AH promises to take care of her, making her very grateful. CHEUNG’s troublesome aunt, CHONG, has returned to Hong Kong and is staying at her place. KELLY moves to HUNG’s old flat, which is next to AH’s home, temporarily. KIU has made a few simple rules for KELLY. KELLY has no choice but to observe if she is to stay. The villagers ask KIU who is the father of KELLY’s baby. KIU questions AH. She is relieved when she learns that AH has no relation with the baby. ROCKY’s lawyer wants YING to plead all the guilt. Gunrunning is getting more and more serious. Police officer WAH orders his subordinates to mount more intensive operation. Sergeant AH is at a carnival when a murder takes place. Village boy KWONG witnesses the homicide and recognizes the murderer to be a man named TUNG. AH and his subordinate HUNG rush to chase after TUNG, but he has run away already. It turns out that the dead is the police informer of a gunrunning case. AH means to place TUNG under arrest. AH and CHEUNG, daughter of the village representative, are childhood friends. KELLY calls CHEUNG from the clinic, threatening to have the baby aborted if CHEUNG does not bring the money. CHEUNG goes to the clinic with AH. AH cannot bear the sight of KELLY’s arrogance. He suggests CHEUNG pay KELLY in installments. KELLY, though reluctant, has to accept their suggestion. CHEUNG takes KELLY home. She lies to her father that KELLY is HOWARD’s cousin. YIN scolds AH for acting too rashly and alerting the gang. In order to vent his anger, AH goes boxing with YING, a good friend of his who is also a police informer. AH is very glad to learn that YING has applied for an English course and he decides to sponsor him. The villagers mistake KELLY for a thief. KELLY is upset that she has been wronged. She goes to a bar on her own. She meets YIN there and the two have a drink together. CHEUNG shows up and stops KELLY from drinking any more. KELLY talks about HOWARD’s past deliberately to hurt CHEUNG then leaves. CHEUNG totally cracks up. She gets dead drunk and throws up at YIN. YIN does not blame her for this and even carries her home on his back. The villagers are saying that YIN and CHEUNG are having an affair. On the way home, CHEUNG mentions HOWARD’s name, which upsets YIN. YIN asks KELLY to take care of CHEUNG. CHEUNG’s talk in her sleep comes as an awakening to KELLY……

AH and HUNG are attacked by the gang. Fortunately, the SDU arrives in time. AH and HUNG do not get hurt but YIN gives them a good telling-off somehow. AH goes to the sole agent of the bulletproof vest. He finds out that YAN was the only person in Hong Kong who has bought a vest from them. AH and his team throw a celebration party. AH gets drunk and loses his temper. HUNG cannot bear seeing AH being so heartbroken and so tells him the whole thing. YAN blames AH for treating her like a domestic helper over the years. Feeling shame and angry, AH beats HUNG. HUNG expresses his discontent and leaves. AH plays basketball with some teenagers so as to let off his anger. He spends the whole night at the park thinking. CHEUNG comes and encourages him to face the reality. HUNG quits. AH runs to him to wish him and YAN all the best. The two reconcile. The villagers are holding a traditional Chinese banquet. WAH comes along with his team……

CHEUNG accepts YIN’s invitation at last. It is raining when they get to the village. YIN lends his only umbrella to CHEUNG. He rushes home in the rain and brushes past KEI. KEI finds it strange that he is wearing the same jade pendant as hers. She then reckons he is she and her ex-husband’s son. Her husband LUK KIN MO tells her to wait and see. The next day, KEI asks YIN about his family but he avoids the question and leaves. KEI feels better when YIN says he will come again. A construction site has been repeatedly attacked by the same group of teenagers. They have been caught but a lawyer comes to bail them out. Meanwhile, Rocky shows up at the police station and offers to help the contractor free of charge. YIN and his team’s efforts have been made fruitless. Yin goes home. YIN feels that his father, KIT, only pays attention to his stepbrother. He mentions about his mother’s name and the two have a quarrel……

KELLY is at the risk of miscarriage and has to be hospitalized for observation. AH stays by her the whole night. A blood clot has been found in KELLY’s womb. REN hurriedly passes it to his subordinate who is sitting next to him. HUNG is running after by a loan shark. YING pays the interest for him, and advises him to work harder to pay off his debt. As a result, the parlor is short of working capital. AH helps out in collecting capital for KELLY, who is very grateful to him. YIN learns that REN is not in Hong Kong. WAH goes to the opera class with his mother; KIU avoids seeing him. WAH’s mother sees through what is going on. KIU makes it clear that she will not let KELLY marry AH. YIN’s car crashes into a lamppost. CHEUNG runs to him and makes him tell the truth. They finally agree to go through thick and thin together. The beauty parlor has to close down eventually. KELLY is sorry that she cannot pay AH back for the time being. AH thinks that this is a good time indeed for KELLY to take some rest and get prepared for the arrival of her baby. After a succession of failures, YIN suspects that there is a spy in the team. YIN tells CHEUNG that it is his wish that his whole family can dine together. KIU asks KELLY to buy football match tickets for AH. The match has turned into a riot. AH worries a lot about KELLY that he scolds KIU, the first time ever. A senior government official has committed suicide. He left a letter, in which he tells that he owes YING money. HUNG is uneasy. CHEUNG helps out in the relationship between KIT and KEI. YIN’s family is in harmony now……

HUNG says that he is sacked because he is heavily in debt. AH does not believe him. They fall out with each other. HUNG calls YING a couple of times, but YING, worrying that HUNG is a planted agent, refuses to see him. HUNG comes to SHING’s farewell party. He tells everyone that he is doing some business. He asks ON to lend him money but is rejected. AH asks HUNG how he has been doing; the two become friends again. YIN comes to the party but is given the cold shoulder. CHEUNG finds this not right but YIN says this is all for SHING’s good. HUNG is so into football gambling that he has neglected YAN. AH follows KELLY in order to arrest REN. KELLY has a severe stomachache; AH sends her to hospital. The doctor advises KELLY to have an induced abortion but she refuses. She has to be hospitalized till she labors. YIN asks AH to keep an eye on her. REN calls KELLY……

KELLY learns about REN’s death. AH promises to take care of her. WAH asks YIN to have the operation. YIN, though unwilling, passes YING’s case to AH. CHEUNG and YIN plan to visit YIN’s adopted daughter in South Africa and would like to take a holiday there. Though busy, AH manages to find time to see KELLY. KELLY is very pleased. KEI is worried about YIN’s condition, lucky that MO is there to comfort her. The police have found some drugs in HUNG’s car. HUNG is charged with drug trafficking. AH and YAN advise HUNG to tell the truth, but YING has sent a lawyer to absolve HUNG from guilt. YING apologizes for sounding HUNG out but HUNG says he does not mind at all. HUNG tells YAN that he is working for YING, making her very worried. MO tells YIN that he should be considerate towards CHEUNG and KEI. YIN therefore decides to have the operation when he is back from holiday. YIN relapses and needs to operate in four hours……

YIN went into a coma after the operation. CHEUNG is worried. KELLY, who is a lot better now, goes home to rest. YIN is still unconscious. CHEUNG blames herself and AH comforts her. AH tells KELLY that he is willing to be the baby’s father. KELLY is very glad. A fortune-teller tells KIU that AH and KELLY are not a good match; she is very pleased, nevertheless. YING’s power is expanding and he has become the number one target of the police. YING hands over his porno business to HUNG. HUNG is doing very well making use of his experience of working at the police force. YING is glad. YAN is angry with HUNG because he smells perfume……

YIN comes around from the coma at last. However, his legs have gone numb. The doctor tells CHEUNG something has gone wrong during the operation, and that YIN may not be able to walk again. CHEUNG decides to keep YIN in the dark. YIN goes to physiotherapy as often as possible. CHEUNG is worried. KELLY has sprained her waist. AH fears that she is unable to take care of herself. YING is attacked by the four largest triad gangs. HUNG is stabbed when he is protecting YING. AH and YAN suspect that HUNG is in trouble but they fail to reach him. AH suggests YAN live with KELLY so that they can take care of each other. YING dresses HUNG’s wound. HUNG knows he has won YING’s trust. HUNG tells YIN that he is sick of being an undercover. YIN encourages him and reassures him that he can go back to his old life as soon as he finds out the evidence of YING’s guilt and the mastermind……

YIN arrives. He raises the fire alarm to signal HUNG not to kill anyone. CHEUNG thinks that YIN has gone missing and so asks her neighbors to help looking for him. YIN feels that he has been a burden to CHEUNG. HUNG writes down on the notebook he and WAHuse to communicate how YIN has saved him, and tells WAH that he wants to quit. HUNG goes to YAN but AH protects YAN from him. HUNG accuses AH for having an affair with YAN. YAN is very sad and cries on AH’s shoulder. KELLY, who is passing by, catches the scene. YIN is depressed that his legs are not any better. CHEUNG goes shopping with him to cheer him up. A thief is running towards their direction. YIN wants to catch him but is shoved to the ground. The newspapers report that YIN has become a handicapped. CHEUNG encourages him not to give up. KING, who used to be YIN’s coach at the SDU, has come to take up YIN’s position……

LAM, a councilor, wants to go Canada to escape from YING. HUNG beats him up, so vigorously that even YING is shocked. LAM is rescued the next day and AH believes he is hiding something from the police. AH finds out that LAM had called YING a couple of times before he was beaten. LAM refuses to tell the truth. HUNG finds out that YING has been in close contact with a mysterious person. LAM is nearly knocked down by a car, luckily AH saves him in time. LAM tells AH the truth at last. YING is at a charity campaign when AH comes and puts him under arrest. WAH has left HUNG a message and tells him to continue his undercover job to wait for more evidence of YING’s guilt. LAM says in court that it is AH who instigates him to give the name of YING. YING is acquitted. As for AH, he has to undergo internal investigation and is banned from looking into YING.’s case. KING has a chat with AH and encourages him to be positive to work……

AH has found some wax on ROCKY’s watch. He has also checked out that REN and YING had bought crystals together. AH visits YIN. They discuss together on how to deal with YING. CHEUNG and KEI take YIN to an unorthodox doctor. YIN knows it will not help but still gives it a try. AH asks KELLY and ROCKY’s wife respectively about ROCKY and REN’s behavior before they died. YIN goes for acupuncture, but he is not any better still. He asks CHEUNG to resume her job. YIN has found a new medicine from the Internet. His doctor tells him that the medicine is still under testing and that it has very harmful side effects. KIT wants YING to help him to acquire lands for development. YING promises to introduce HUNG to his partner. YIN suffers from occasional tremor. CHEUNG and YIN go to the ice rink where they used to go often. CHEUNG is surprised but glad to see him skate and bursts into tears of joy……

HUNG goes to the Chinese restaurant and calls AH an adulterer. It does not take long before they are surrounded by reporters. The killer has no way to carry out his mission. The incident has been widely reported. KING suspends AH from work. The villagers call KELLY ominous. KELLY leaves. AH is stopping her from going when her fetus starts to move. KELLY gives birth to a boy. AH promises to take care of them once again. YING questions HUNG why he should save AH. From HUNG’s reply YING knows that HUNG is a person who treasures brotherhood. HUNG asks YIN to tell AH to keep a distance from YING so as not to ruin their plan. YIN wants to go back to work but CHEUNG advises him to take more rest. YIN loses his temper; CHEUNG is upset. KELLY pays a visit to HOWARD’s grave. HOWARD’s mother lets her name the baby after AH. The villagers finally accept AH and KELLY. HUNG goes to ask for YAN’s forgiveness. She agrees to let him off……

CHEUNG finds that YIN’s drug is still under control. She asks YIN to stop taking it but he does not listen. CHEUNG is hurt. HUNG informs YIN that YING is making a big deal and that his partner owns a boat. KING learns that YIN suffers from tremor, and so he invites him to go yachting to chill out. A feng shui master hired by HUNG tells the villagers that development will bring good luck to the village. AH tries to dissuadethe villagers from listening to the feng shui master but they ignore him. HUNG is anxious that YING does not tell him the details of the deal. YIN tells KING his intelligence indicates that YING is going to have a big deal. KING pretends to think for a strategy. KING finds YIN’s medicine. At the village development press conference, AH points out that YING is responsible for ROCKY’s death. He also tells the villagers that YING has made a huge profit from reselling their lands to KIT……

YING beats HUNG up but KING asks him not to kill HUNG. KING lies to WAH and YIN that he has seen AH killing the warden. There is nothing WAH can do but orders to arrest AH. CHEUNG calls YIN, hoping to reconcile with him. YIN, however, irritates her again. YIN loses control and beats YING like mad. WAH transfers YIN to a clerical post. KING points out that YIN is taking controlled drugs. YIN begs him not to tell WAH. In the meantime, AH calls YIN and asks him not to disclose who is calling. Yin suddenly passes out. YIN comes around, tells CHEUNG something then falls unconscious again. KING follows CHEUNG to an empty temple but only to find cloths covered with blood everywhere. AH is nowhere to be found. KING holds CHEUNG in custody and forces her to reveal AH’s whereabouts. CHEUNG tries hard to recall what YIN has told her. WAH does not agree to keep CHEUNG but KING tells him not to show favoritism to AH anymore……

HUNG and AH jump into the sea. Meanwhile, YIN shows up and shoots up the ignition. Not until then does KING realize that YIN has set him up. The time bombs still go on ticking. YIN’s attention has been diverted and KING grasps the opportunity to run away. AH helps HUNG remove the bombs. That evening, HUNG and YAN, and AH and KELLY have a nice long chat respectively. As for CHEUNG , she will not forgive YIN for using her as a bait to trick KING. She decides to do voluntary medical services overseas and moves back to her parents’ home. AH, HUNG and YIN resume duties and work hard in fighting KING and YING. YING goes to the empty house where he has hidden some diamonds. KING arrives and threatens him with a gun. He demands YING to help him leave Hong Kong. AH finds out that YING has bought a large quantity of food and water. He deduces from this that YING is going to run away on a container ship……

Kelly’s son is ill and hospitalized. AH and KELLY go to get some water for him. When they are back, he is nowhere to be seen. Apparently, YING has taken him away. Meanwhile, YIN leads his team to encircle the hospital. AH manages to get back KELLY’s son from YING. YING is arrested but he refuses to say anything. HUNG and AH try to talk YING round with their brotherhood. It is YING’s birthday, AH takes out some eggs which have been dyed red, just as his late mother, who had taken care of YING, always did, to celebrate with him. YING softens and agrees to cooperate. WAH recommends AH for the promotion interview the second time. AH, however, has no confidence in himself. YIN announces that he will be transferred to the city very soon; and that AH has no reason to worry about the interview. WAH proposes to KIU in public. KIU agrees……
