Geoff and Kate get ready to celebrate the birth of their first child. Geoff receives a visit from a paediatrician friend called Colin. After the baby is born, she is ill and needs an operation. Kate finds out about his drinking problem and doesn't want him to perform the procedure but if baby Scarlett does not get the operation soon, she will die.
