CHAI confines KAU. He makes her work as his gang’s temporary accountant after learning that she is a mathematical genius. TUNG pretends to put the evidence in where she has been told. Now that the case has been settled, SANTOS revokes the arrest orders of the trio and resumes SHUI’s post. TUNG invites the trio to move in but they sneak away in the middle of the night. TUK-LAM’s grandmother has been hospitalized. He visits her, and discovers that she is not suffering from any terminal illness at all. He decides that he will from now on stand on his own feet and support his grandmother. With a view to repaying his debt, CHAK-LAM goes through a wall and steals money from a Mahjong house. Ten years ago, KUNG CHAK-LAM, KUNG TUK-LAM and TSUI SHUI found a wishing rock after they had been saved by the masked klepht PEACOCK. They each made a wish, and agreed to meet again ten years later. TUK-LAM has grown up to be a lingerie street vendor, TUK-LAM a cross-dressing scammer, whereas SHUI has become a police officer. The thief that SUN CHIU-TUNG, who is the chief of a private detective agency, has been running after has slipped away. Her failure means that she is not entitled to the reward offered by the police. Her daughter, NGOK KAU, informs her that their landlord is coming over to collect their rent soon when she returns to the office. Sergeant LUI KING-CHAU is a typical bad guy. In addition to cheating TUK-LAM out of his lottery ticket, he threatens to unmask CHAK-LAM and appropriates SHUI’s gun. Tonight, coincidentally, CHAK-LAM, TUK-LAM and SHUI plan to kill CHAU……

Something strange happens to TUNG, CHAK-LAM, TUK-LAM and SHUI as they are being surrounded by the police. They are certified dead on their arrival at hospital. DIK HON breaks down at the news. At the morgue, CHAK-LAM, TUK-LAM and SHUI come back to life, and they believe they have already died. TUNG shows up suddenly and takes them to her detective agency. Back to her office, she reveals to them that she and PEACOCK are co-disciples. She also invites them to learn to be a private agent. TUNG finds LEE SING-NUI, CHAU’s wife, suspicious. NUI is a superstitious person. TUNG and the trio decide to set her up. TUNG learns by chance that CHAK-LAM and TUK-LAM are half-brothers and that their father is KUNG SUM-KAI. She is determined to take care of them for KAI’s sake. TUNG and the trio sneak into CHAU’s place, where they find evidence left by the murder……

TUK-LAM intends to make a living as a kung-fu fighter. He gives an open challenge on the street. An enemy of his appears to make thing difficult for him. On the other hand, CHAK-LAM’s creditor has sent his men to deal with him. TUK-LAM and CHAK-LAM run into each other as they are hiding away from their enemies. Once again, TUNG shows up to their rescue and they finally agree to work for her detective agency. TUK-LAM and CHAT-LAM discover that their necklaces, which were given to them by their respective father, look very similar. HON encourages SHUI to run after his dream girl. A maid named SO FU-LE has fallen from a building. Finding the incident suspicious, her good friend MOU-SEE entrusts TUNG to look into the case. SHUI’s dream girl, CHOW KON-JAC, shows up at the police station. His excitement turns into disappointment when she scolds him for no apparent reasons……

CHAK-LAM and TUK LAM call each other son of a seductive woman. They want to move out. TUNG makes them change their mind with a trick. As told by TUNG, CHAK-LAM and TUK-LAM dress as maids to seduce WU TUNG, owner of Tung Tung Studio. Later, they return to the Spinster House, where CHAK-LAM discovers that one of the maids has the same hairpin as the one WU TUNG gave LE. Using the hairpin, CHAK-LAM and TUK-LAM make LE’s friends jealous of each other. The next thing they know, LE’s friends are fighting with each other. TUNG and the others study the files SHUI has brought home. There is something unusual about the files. JAC wants to take back LE and her friends’ photos. She is almost raped by WU TUNG. Fortunately SHUI, who happens to pass by, saves her. After spending some time in the Spinster House with each other, TUK-LAM and CHAK-LAM finally make up with each other. Together, they probe into the murder case of LE.

SHUI is upset about JAC. HON encourages him to talk her. He agrees, but will see WU TUNG first before he does so. Tung Tung Studio is on fire as he gets there. He is attacked. He wakes up to find WU TUNG in a coma. TUNG and the others believe that the fire is not an accident. TUK-LAM and CHAK-LAM steal LE’s things to TUNG for case reconstruction. After gathering the bits and pieces together, she concludes that JAC is most suspicious. JAC finds out at last that TUK-LAM and CHAK-LAM are actually men. SEE explains to her and other maids as to what is going on. JAC visits LE’s graveyard. TUNG and KAU follow her closely and manage to get back an important piece of evidence. SANTOS orders the arrest of JAC. SHUI pleads TUK-LAM and CHAK-LAM to help him drag on the process. SHUI fails to persuade JAC into giving up the idea of jumping down from a building. On the other hand, TUNG is trying to figure out the course of LE’s death.

HON joins TUNG and her staff for barbeque, during which he tells of a shipwreck that happened six months ago, frightening CHAK-LAM and TUK-LAM to the core. SHUI still cannot get over JAC. He is so down that he quits. KAU begs TUNG to train SHUI up to be an agent. A woman suspects that her husband has a woman outside. TUNG tells the trio to go to a nightclub for investigation. There they see CHU TAT-YAN, who is better known as the “Entertainment King” and his friend CHAP YAU. CHAK-LAM and TUK-LAM cannot help but envy their lifestyle. The fact that YAN used to be a detective enables him to see through the trio’s identity right away. He is about to send his men to intercept them when the manager of the nightclub approaches them. It turns out that he has taken TUK-LAM for LAM KING-FA, one of the popular singers of the club. Before they go, SHUI and CHAK-LAM explain to LAM KING-SUET, another singer, on behalf of TUK-LAM……

CHAK-LAM has been ill at ease ever since he found out about YAU’s secret. He turns to SHUI for help. KAU and SHUI probe into two of the shipwreck survivors, one of which is the wife of a famous Chinese opera singer, and the other the son of a dried seafood shop owner. They have not found anything suspicious about them though. Later, TUNG is astonished to find that YAN, her supervisor at work in the past, was the third survivor. The trio believes there is a secret between TUNG and YAN. TUNG tells KAU what it is all about. YAN tells TUNG the shipwreck is not a normal shipwreck. SHUI discovers that the Chinese opera singer and his wife are not on good terms. He is determined to dig further deeper into the matter. The loan shark is running after SUET. The manager of the nightclub suggests her to reform the Singing Queen with TUK-LAM playing FA. YAU goes to TUNG’s detective agency to ask CHAK-LAM to teach him to dance……

Taking YAU with him, CHAK-LAM goes through a wall in the nick of time. When they are safe, she asks him to teach her the skill of going through a wall. SHUI and KAU are busy investigating the wife of the Chinese opera singer. They bump into TUK-LAM and CHAK-LAM, who are following the son of the dried seafood shop owner. Out of their expectations, their targets commit suicide. The ship that disappeared without trace six months ago appears suddenly. A dead body is found in the ship. SUET passes out at the morgue as soon as she sees FA’s jewelry. When she comes round, she has become a totally different person. TUNG tells CHAK-LAM and SHUI to check out the gold shop invoice found on the dead body. CHAK-LAM goes absent-minded once he has arrived at the gold shop. CHAK-LAM runs into YAU, who tells her the owner of the gold shop is her stepfather. FA is still missing. SUET is very upset……

TUK-LAM is glad to see FA. SUET and FA hug each other in tears as soon as they meet, after which FA tells her sister the truth. Believing that the case has been closed, the trio plans to have fun at the racecourse. However, TUNG says the truth is yet to come out. TUNG learns that the suspect has fled to SIAM. TUK-LAM, CHAK LAM and SHUI all volunteer to go to SIAM. YAU shows the trio round the studio. They run into her good friend SZE YING and her younger brother, SZE GOT. The trio is attracted by YING’s beauty instantly. CHAK-LAM walks past his stepfather’s, MOK CHOY, gold shop. YAU encourages him to go see his mother, YAU PING. With the help of YAU, the trio takes part in the commencement ceremony of “A Ghost Story” in the capacity of reporters. A stage set collapses on top of the leading actor. YAU and the others let out a piercing scream; YING faints.

It happens that the leading actor is a relative of SANTOS. He is determined to leave no stone unturned in the investigation of the accident. It dawns that the death of the leading actor follows exactly the plot of the drama title that he is working at. Remembering the horrible humor about the drama, other actors and actresses all request YAN to stop the production but YAN refuses. YING envies YAU, as YAN is determined to make her a star. But what YAU wants most is that her acting be recognized. SANTOS demands that YAN compensate for the death of his relative. YAN entrusts TUNG with the investigation of the accident. TUNG tells the trio to work as extras for the TV station so as to look into the case. PING is nearly knocked over by a car. CHAK-LAM and YING take her to a bonesetter. SHUI learns by chance that YAN likes fried rice, too. YAN complains about the trio to TUNG……

TUNG confesses that she was involved in the death of KAI, i.e. TUK-LAM and CHAK-LAM’s father. She finds the brothers full of shortcomings, just as their father. The trio swears to find out about the truth of the studio accident so as to prove their innocence. CHAK-LAM has found a room. He goes to PING’s home to ask her to leave CHOY and start a new life with him. CHOY goes home suddenly. Using his supernatural power, SHUI checks with YAN’s personal assistant about his movements. When YAN learns about this he changes his views on SHUI. Something paranormal happens to YAU, SHUI, TUK-LAM and CHAK-LAM respectively in the studio. SHUI takes NGAU to a carnival, where they run into SHUI and his girlfriend. SHUI makes a spectacular of himself once again. CHAK-LAM carries on his investigation. YAU slaps him on the face, confirming him that YING has to do with the accident. YING watches their every move in the distance.

CHAK-LAM believes YAU is innocent. Together with TUK-LAM and SHUI, he goes to the studio again to carry on their investigation. There they witness YING being injured by a knife. SHUI wins a robot for NGAU in a knife-throwing game. Watching him play, she comes to understand how YING was injured. The studio is on fire. YING, CHAK-LAM and the others have a cast-iron alibi – they are in the dormitory when the studio caught on fire. TUNG analyses the case with the trio. The trio follows YING again but she and her younger brother discover them. TUNG and NGAU go to the studio to see how the trio is doing. They are astonished to know that the trio has gone missing. The mother and daughter go to YING’s dormitory at once. As they arrive, YING and GOT are all packed. There is nothing TUNG can do but to ask HON to detain the two. Using a pinwheel, TUNG tries to see if she can see the location where the trio is being kept……

A lady in red shows up out of the blue and helps the trio get out of the fire scene. TUNG works out the hiding place of the knife with the evidence she has got on hand. TUK-LAM and CHAK-LAM save YING. Unwillingly, she requests them to search for GOT, who has gone disappeared. SHUI is attacked at the police station and faints. SANTOS is giving his staff a good telling-off when GOT drags SHUI out. TUK-LAM has been absent-minded the whole day. CHAK-LAM and SHUI believe he has been in contact with paranormal objects. TUK-LAM runs into the Lady in Red as he offers sacrifices on the street in the middle of the night. He carries her to a stone house on his back. He finds a notice in search for a woman called LING MIU-SAT in the house. It is obvious SAT is the Lady in Red. Before he knows it, SAT is approaching him, holding a pair of scissors in her hands.

SAT insists that she does not have any mental problems. She asks TUK-LAM whether he knows Tai Koon Restaurant. He remembers that its owner, LING KAM, was killed by a robber recently. She moves on to tell him his is KAM’s daughter and how SIT CHEUK became the accountant of Tai Koon Restaurant. SHUI goes out with NGAU. She shows up in her casual clothes, just as she always does, but he tells her to go home to change. When she appears again, fully dressed, she is surprised to see that YAN and his personal assistant are also there. What is more, they are merely going to play lawn balls. As they play, YAN shares with SHUI his motto, which he claims has helped him win the hearts of many girls. This unexpectedly reminds SHUI of his late mother. He gets very emotional then leaves. NGAU goes up to him, totally taken by surprise when he tells her YAN is his father.

TUK-LAM takes SAT away by force, injuring CHEUK’s men in the course. CHEUK orders to save both SAT and his men. TUK-LAM and SHUI take SAT back to the stone house. TUK-LAM has taken some doping pills accidentally. He has a great time playing with SAT. TUK-LAM and SAT are nowhere to be found. TUNG finds a letter written by them. For fear they will commit suicide, TUNG and SHUI turn to SANTOS for help. In the meantime, CHEUK appears. He complains that TUK-LAM has taken his fiancee away in the middle of their wedding ceremony. YAN has not reunited with SHUI yet. In order not to disappoint SHUI, NGAU lies to him that is because YAN does not want to affect his life. Meanwhile, the radio is broadcasting a life interview with YAN, who says he enjoys his current lifestyle so much and that he does not want any change. SHUI therefore knows that YAN has no intention at all to reunite with him……

SAT is cooking a meal for TUK-LAM, though she knows absolutely nothing about cooking. She is so clumsy-handed that she chars her fried egg and sausage. TUK-LAM wolfs it down happily nevertheless. TUK-LAM practices kung fu against a wooden dummy late in the night. Everybody knows that he misses SAT. In fact, CHAT-LAM is also thinking of YAU, while SHUI has JAC on his mind all the time. NGAU does not have the courage to face SHUI. She leaves a note on the trio’s room, telling SHUI that YAN has been discharged. YAU gives an interview at a radio station after winning a best actress award. At the interview, she expresses her love for an important person. CHAK-LAM rushes to the radio station. YAN stops him, telling him it is part of the plot of YAU’s upcoming drama. YAN visits the grave of SHUI’s mother. He tells her the reason he left her was because he had been diagnosed with a terminal illness……

TUNG reminds SHUI not to have physical contact with female too casually. He activates his supernatural power accidentally as he is asking her why. It eventually dawns to him that NGAU has been fond of him. He tells TUNG frankly he only regards NGAU as a younger sister. TUNG’s nose bleeds as he is speaking. TUK-LAM and CHAK-LAM think that NGAU’s social circle is too small. They suggest SHUI introduce someone to her so that she will stop loving him. CHAK-LAM visits YAN’s home. He is unhappy to YAN being so intimate with YAU. YAN expresses his love for YAU after thanking her for taking so good care of him. She makes up an excuse and leaves. Later, YAN knows by chance that CHAK-LAM has taken photos of him in bed. TUNG foresees that CHAK-LAM will kill someone. She runs into a man whose hair turned white overnight when she is tracking SHE CHAI-MING down……

YAU has fallen into the sea. CHAK-LAM finds the incident suspicious. YAN does not agree with him though, believing it is no more than an accident that she fell into the sea when they went boating. TUNG finds it unreasonable that YAU would go boating with YAN, when she already had an appointment with CHAK-LAM the same day. SANTOS visits TUNG at her agency. He tells her YAN knows quite a few people in the police force. With a view to speeding up her investigation, he will send an officer who has been trained in the Scotland Yard to help her. It is a real surprise that the officer is none other than SHU. SHU has taken some material to TUNG, including a notebook of CHAK-LAM’s late father. CHAK-LAM finds that one page is missing in the notebook. SHU figures out the content of the missing page with little effort. NGAU praises him. SHUI feels jealous. TUNG discovers that the accident took place after the date of the entry of the missing page……

TUNG has taken the pinwheel to the back alley. SHUI follows her. TUNG activates her supernatural power making use of the pinwheel and spits blood. She insists that she is fine. SHUI makes her tell the truth using his power. She tells him she has foreseen that YAN tries to shoot him in a large drug making factory and that NGAU protects him with her own body. She also tells him using too much supernatural power will result in internal injuries. SHUI discovers that YAN is hiding something from him. What is more, TUK-LAM and CHAK-LAM are following him. Before the trio is able to figure out what is going on, YAN and his men appear. YAN asks TUK-LAM and CHAK-LAM how they have found out about the place. In order to sow a discord between him and SHUI, they reply that it was SHUI who led them here. As expected, YAN is taken in. He wants to kill SHUI, but then he changes his mind, telling him to shoot his two friends to show his loyalty instead.
