Sati expresses her happiness
After their marriage, Sati tells Mahadev that her every desire has been fulfilled. She apologises to him for all the humiliation he has suffered. The new bride also learns that Mahadev would want to live amidst nature, and not in the confines of a palace.

Daksh stops Mahadev from participating in the yagna, saying that with the animal skin around his waist and the snake around his neck, he is not clean enough to attend the ritual. Sati makes three promises to Lord Shiva: she will obey him at all times; she will never lie to him; and she will never hide anything from him. Rishi Atharva brings his scriptures to Lord Shiva, who declares they will henceforth become the Atharva Veda. Lord Brahma’s sons are angered by this.
