VIOLET tells PO-PING in her flat that A4 have decided to join Up Technology. As Goaltech is short of flowing capital, SAM needs to take out a $10,000,000 mortgage to pay for IRENE’s medical fee. At a director’s meeting, PO-PING suggests retaining A4 with money, adding that he will inject $50,000,000 to Goaltech at one go. SAM turns down his suggestion though. ALEX has been making things difficult for A4. LING-CHING helps them out by teaching them how to get out of their plight. STEVE and RYAN joke about a client’s peeing difficulty in the washroom. GILBERT happens to be in the washroom and so believes they are teasing him. Everybody but STEVE in the Marketing Department gets a good pay rise. INDERPAL introduces MR. MO NGA-LIK, ALEX, product designer of the Research & Development Department of Goaltech Scientific Ltd., is not only talented but also very popular among his colleagues and boss. His four proteges, who are known as A4, even regard him as their good friends. His girlfriend, LING LING-CHING, works for an NGO. MO KIN-YEE, KIN, ALEX’s younger sister, works at an insurance company. An aggressive member of the “post-80s” generation, her dream is to buy a flat of her own. CHI WING-HAN, VIOLET, manager of the Administration Department, is picking the receptionist up the second ALEX walks into the office. He decides to teach VIOLET a lesson. VIOLET calls her secretary, HOI-KEI, telling her to tell STEVE to come to see her. He does not know until he runs into ALEX that VIOLET wants to see both of them. According to her, their promotion proposals have been shelved. ALEX, STEVE and A4 plan to complain to SAM. ELAINE, the departmental secretary, has managed to find out about which hospital SAM’s wife, CHAN OI-LIN, IRENE, is staying. Taking her advice, ALEX and STEVE make a dash for the hospital but they do not see SAM. VIOLET has hired a private nurse for IRENE. It turns out that the nurse, whose name is WONG SHUI-SHUI, is not only her cousin but also her mole. VIOLET is not happy that STEVE’s new car is more expensive than hers. DICKSON requests that KIN ask NING-CHING to work for him after learning that the latter is a friend of socialite MRS. SZEMA’s. If KIN fails to do so, he threatens, she will be given the axe……

A MR. DIU, who STEVE suspects is a homosexual, wants to rent a room. STEVE does not think he will make a good tenant, but for money’s sake he has no choice. STEVE is molested by a homosexual at a convenience store. And then a man with a moustache follows him. It turns out that the man is INDERPAL SINGH, STEVE’s Indian school friend who was born in Hong Kong. Some twenty years ago INDERPAL returned to India as per his parents’ request but he has come back to look for a job. STEVE puts him up for the time being. DICKSON makes things difficult for KIN again. YIU YEE-LONG, AARON, a member of A4, helps her out. KIN wants to resign. When NING-CHING learns that DICKSON has been menacing KIN, she agrees to join her insurance company. SAM tells ALEX to call on his flat in the evening to report the progress of a product research. VIOLET, after being informed by her mole, sneaks into SAM’s study to seduce him. ALEX is taken in instantly. SAM plans to invite GILBERT CHAN, a well-known marketing people, to be the Marketing Director of Goaltech. VIOLET, who is assigned to take care of the invitation, turns to FRANCIS, Manager of the Finance Department, for advice of how to ruin the plan. CHAN CHING-LOY, IRENE’s father who lives in Thailand, has come to see IRENE. He treats SAM very badly and even hits him. No matter how badly he is treated, SAM dares not say a word. His father-in-law’s attitude towards him reminds him of how IRENE used to treat him. The idea of becoming MRS. KO comes to VIOLET’s mind when SHUI-SHUI tells her SAM does not want to see her wife wake up. INDERPAL sees through DICKSON’s crafty scheme and decides to expose his mask. KIN and ARRON get along very well. She likes him even more when she learns that he is her favorite blogger “MR. GET AHEAD”. STEVE is thrilled when KIMURA’s assistant calls to fix a time for them to sign the contract on Friday evening. ALEX and his colleagues all think that they should keep the matter a secret. VIOLET demands ALEX to submit a sample product that uses nano anion far infrared synthetic technology but he pays no attention to her. A friend of INDERPAL’s sells second-hand electrical appliances to India for a living. Seeing this, INDERPAL hawks the used electrical appliances he gets from ALEX’s flat. NING-CHING is upset when she learns that he has sold ALEX’s weather forecast instrument as well. SAM runs into ALEX. ALEX and STEVE have both received a warning letter. If VIOLET ever picks at him again, ALEX declares, he will quit for sure. STEVE believes VIOLET has planted a mole in the company. STEVE’s flat is stuffed with used electrical appliances which INDERPAL took home. INDERPAL nearly sets the house on fire as he is fixing an oven. DIU has a heart attack because of the false alarm, and he decides to move out as soon as he has been discharged. KIN and her friend CHOW LEI-LEI go to a job fair together. She is hugely dejected that she does not get an offer. VIOLET suggests reducing staff but SAM does not find it a good idea. She wants to express her love for him but the sudden appearance of IRENE’s younger brother, CHAN SHUN-MO, ruins her plan. SAM is going to Germany on a business trip. He decides not to take ALEX along this time. SHUM HEI-MAN takes INDERPAL for STEVE’s driver……

LING-CHING cannot believe she is employed. She wants to tell VIOLET that ALEX is her boyfriend but VIOLET must dash for the airport. KIN goes to a real estate agency to look for a flat. She recommends herself to the manager, HO CHING-CHIK, as soon as she learns that they are hiring people. CHING-CHIK tells her to get a certificate of registration for real estate agent first. STEVE’s mobile phone is running out of battery. Inspired by LING-CHING’s casual remarks, he comes up with a special charger that can charge up any battery. KIN asks AARON on the Internet for interview tips. His reply is “compliance”, which works. SAM asks ALEX about the progress of the research and development of far infrared products. ALEX tells his boss he is currently working on a product named “ES”. SAM therefore tells him to go all-out to work on the new project. STEVE would like to invite HEI-MAN to their wedding……

HEI-MAN’s appearance at ALEX’s wedding makes STEVE believe he will become her boyfriend. To his disappointment, she is only attending the wedding on behalf of her boyfriend, DR. SHING KA-YAN. SAM announces that a Germany is interested in Goaltech’s products and that its owner will be coming to Hong Kong. LING-CHING decides to postpone their honeymoon so that ALEX will be able to meet the German client. ALEX appreciates her thoughtfulness. VIOLET has returned from overseas. SAM gives her a ride to the office. Everybody in the company jumps to the conclusion that she is SAM’s mistress. STEVE’s car is missing. He suspects that it must have been stolen. It turns out that INDERPAL is using it for his illegal car hire business. VIOLET is unfamiliar with ES products. SAM therefore decides she needs not meet the German client. She, however, decides to turn up at the meeting anyway……

ALEX and LING-CHING are surprised to learn upon their return that VIOLET is taking a three-month’s leave and that SAM is taking care of her responsibilities. On the other hand, SAM hopes that LING-CHING can take charge of the Marketing Department for the time being. VIOLET tells SHUI-SHUI to keep a close eye at what happens in SAM’s flat. KIN and CHING-CHIK go to a new residential property to look for business. KIN dashes out to the road to stop an incoming vehicle by force so as to secure a business. CHING-CHIK disapproves of her unorthodox way of making a sale. KIN runs into AARON at lunch. Once again, he leaves a very good impression on her. LEI-LEI borrows AARON’s phone with the excuse of having left her phone at home, her intention in fact is to find out about his number. SAM has forgiven VIOLET. She will resume her post of Administration Department Manager after her recovery……

ALEX receives a call from STEVE at 6 o’clock in the morning telling him to go to Shum Shui Po, where he and INDERPAL have recently opened a juice shop. KIN dashes out to the road again to try to get a business but CHING-CHIK stops her. Quoting sources as saying that major developers in town are going to acquire dilapidated premises in To Kwan Wan, CHUN, who is the boss of KIN and CHING-CHIK, requests his agents to try to acquire as many flats in To Kwan Wan as possible. SAM is out of town. ALEX plans to apply for a few days’ leave but LING-CHING hands him an ES project progress form, telling him to speed up the research and develop progress. An old woman is selling her flat at a very low price. CHING-CHIK finds that it is indeed a haunted apartment, but KIN believes it is now or never. AARON is interested in KIN’s investment plan. He borrows money from a finance company so as to take part in the plan……

Business of the juice shop has been quiet. STEVE meets INDERPAL’s cousin RAJA when he is distributing fliers. According to RAJA, INDERPAL had promised his mother that he would work at RAJA’s company before he returned to Hong Kong. That’s why he is working for him now. The girl who works at the juice shop is called JUICE. Her boyfriend, BROTHER SMILING, has borrows a knife from the shop. The knife is covered with bloodstains when he returns it to the shop. STEVE and INDERPAL are almost involved in a lawsuit because of this. LING-CHING has discovered the tracking device. She changes her position so as to keep a closed eye at ALEX. Taking LAU TSUN-TUNG’s advice, STEVE treats new recruit SIS FONG very badly. On the other hand, with a view to cutting down operational cost, he takes Goaltech’s stationery for the private use of the juice shop. STEVE’s recent disinclination to work arouses LING-CHING’s suspicion……

The babies on the TV catch LING-CHING’s eyeballs. ALEX takes the opportunity to ask whether she would like to have a baby of her own. He is thrilled to bits to see her typing a resignation letter. But when she tells him what will come with the birth of a baby, he decides to give up the idea. LING-CHING tells RYAN to stalk STEVE. It takes STEVE quite an effort to get rid of him. When he finally arrives at the juice shop, he discovers that SIS FONG has stolen many fruits from the shop. KIN learns by chance that GRANNY WONG is CHUN’s auntie and that they have conspired together to coax her into buying the haunted apartment. SHUI-SHUI sees VIOLET, who has just resumed work, typing a resignation letter. VIOLET explains that is because she does not see any prospect in the company. She drops the idea of quitting the next day when KAR PO-PING, one of the shareholders of Goaltech, shows up……

Great aunt’s 90th birthday is round the corner. ALEX plans to buy her a gold peach but KIN, who cannot even make ends meet, cannot afford it. He blames her for not telling him that she is going out with AARON. STEVE is very upset to hear that he will not be promoted. LING-CHING cheers him up, telling him the position of marketing manager is not taken yet. RAJA’s company is like a prison to INDERPAL. STEVE tries to help him out but to no avail. KIN is short of money. Her colleague suggests that she borrow money from CHING-CHIK. TSUN-TUNG’s mistress is pregnant. She calls on him suddenly. As a result, LAI leaves in anger taking their son away. STEVE has wound up the juice shop. It comes as a blow to him when upon his arrival at the company, when WILLIAM announces that GILBERT CHAN will take up the position of marketing manager. VIOLET gets hold of the financial situation of Goaltech with the help of KAN SZE-SZE……

KIN learns by chance that AARON has cheated her for many times. She suspects it was a pack of lies that he borrowed money with a view to helping his family members. STEVE has bought GILBERT a pot of orchid the first day he reports duties, only to be told that he is toadying the wrong person. LAI discovers that the bills have not been settled, neither have the staff been paid. In a letter TSUN-TUNG has left, he tells her she can do whatever she likes with the restaurant. SHUI-SHUI informs VIOLET that WILLIAM wants IRENE to go for a brain surgery. As such, he would like her to continue taking care of his wife. KIN hopes that AARON can help her out with the decoration of her new house. She leaves in anger when he turns her down with another make-up excuse. ALEX can see that KIN is upset about AARON. Pouring her heart out, she insists that it is not her fault but AARON’s. VIOLET tries to access to the company’s confidential date……

LAI is negotiating with MRS. CHIU, her landlord, when TSUN-TUNG appears suddenly and demands to take their son away. INDERPAL stops him with a trick. As a result, he is late for work and given a telling-off by RAJA. This time, he asks LAI to help him out. STEVE learns from the nurses that a couple, both of whom are doctors, have recently broken up. Mistakenly believes that they are talking about KA-YAN and HEI-MAN, he grasps the opportunity to express his love for HEI-MAN. AARON is jealous of ALEX. VIOLET drops him a hint that he can always quit. CHU PAK-TAK of Up Technology invites AARON to take charge of the Research and Development Department of his company with a handsome remuneration. He hopes that AARON will persuade the other three members of A4 to join him too. Goaltech has to pay KIMURA ten million dollars because of an unexpected incident……

A4 hope that PAK-TAK will agree to make a payment in lieu of notice to Goaltech for them so that they can leave. To their disappointment, he avoids seeing them. ALEX looks for STEVE at a bar to see how he is doing. STEVE feels that he has had enough of Goaltech that he wants to quit desperately. As for ALEX, he is of the impression that whether Goaltech will survive or perish depends entirely on him. AARON visits KIN. ALEX blames her for still seeing AARON. PAUL and the other two members of A4 have been away from their desks for a while for no apparent reason. ALEX finds it strange that when they show up again, they are able to tell why ES has been down. Later, he discovers that LING-CHING has been helping them. He accuses her of not trusting him. AARON calls on KIN again. This time ALEX gives him a punch as well as showing him the door. KIN is so mad about her brother that she decides she might just as well leave……

KIN feels that AARON’s quality of life has been affected because of her apartment. As such, she plans to sell it but CHING-CHIK thinks the otherwise. RAJA has booked INDERPAL’s mother a ticket to Hong Kong, leaving INDERPAL with no choice but to continue to work for him. INDERPAL and his friends put their heads together to see how to get rid of RAJA. KIN is afraid of ghosts. CHING-CHIK offers to buy her flat at the price of $800,000 even though she is only asking for $500,000. She thanks him for his generosity. ALEX blames LING-CHING for telling SAM ES’s problems, believing this is the reason why SAM has lost his confidence in him. She feels that the gap between them is getting wider and wider. The business of the restaurant has improved. TSUN-TUNG appears out of nowhere, telling LAI she can have the restaurant to her own if she agrees to go for divorce and give him $500,000. Or else, he says, the restaurant will have to fold……

KIN and CHING-CHIK quit together when she discovers at last how CHUN made her into buying the haunted flat. The value of her flat has appreciated a lot after CHING-CHIK has bought it. When KIN is not around, AARON demands him to compensate them the difference. When she learns his unreasonable request, she tells him her agreement with CHING-CHIK, assuring him that CHING-CHIK has not taken any advantage of her. STEVE writes TSUN-TUNG a check for $500,000. LAI tears it as soon as she finds out that STEVE has borrowed money from a finance company. SAM asks A4 about the progress of ES. ALEX jumps to the conclusion that he now thinks very highly of the foursome. AARON has emailed ALEX photos taken of him without his knowledge. ALEX is very upset about the photos. KIN comes to know AARON’s plan to torture ALEX. ALEX, STEVE and INDERPAL have a glass of two together……

LING-CHING knows very well that ALEX can end up in prison for selling the information of ES. On the other hand, it is against her principles if she keeps the matter in the dark. VIOLET has learnt about the matter. She demands that STEVE shift the blame onto ALEX. LING-CHING decides to resign and then hide away. ALEX did not realize until then that how much she cares about him and what a difficult position she has been in. Unexpectedly, he sees her in the street. After telling her how difficult days have been without her, he comes up with a solution for ES. CHING-CHIK has found a new job. He employs KIN as his assistant. ALEX’s project is almost complete when he finds to his horror that ES’s programme has been destroyed. He blames AARON for doing it, but the latter points the accusing finger at ELAINE. Finding AARON’s behavior unusual, ALEX decides to follow him. JOHNNY is in VIOLET’s place when PO-PING calls in suddenly……

SAM is grilling VIOLET when AARON appears out of the blue. Left with no choice, she hugs AARON, lying to SAM that they are going out with each other. The truth has come out at last. SAM finally realizes that everyone has been conspiring with PO-PING to ruin the ES project and to get Goaltech. PO-PING celebrates his success with VIOLET, SZE-SZE and AARON. He announces that once he makes Chairman he will promote AARON to manager of the Research & Development Department. VIOLET gives IRENE a memory stick, in which stores a video of SAM saying he wished she would never wake up. IRENE is heartbroken. Now that the ES demo has been lost, there is nothing SAM and ALEX can do to talk the German client into doing business with them. PO-PING is taunting SAM when IRENE, who has recovered her memory, shows up to show her support to SAM. ALEX and A3 work day and night to try to work out a solution to ES’s problem……
