Jess goes to Quantico to train to be an FBI agent after Brooke transfers to San Francisco. Jess is passed from the training school by powerful John Pollock to work with her new partner, rule-breaking hip Nicole Scott as well as evidence expert Antonio Cortez. In the team's first case, a teenaged girl is caught on a survelliance camera stepping on an elevator with a stranger at a shopping mall. A woman is found murdered in New York City's Central Park but before police arrive at the scene the medical examiner, the hearse, and the driver disappear along with the body. Eventually the body along with the boides of the medical examiner and the driver are found cut open. Assistant Director Pollock identifies the body as that of an unprofessional undercover woman he had been using to get information about a gang of bank robbers. Jess has dreams about the snitch getting the electric chair and of Pollock kissing the woman.
