YIN is delighted to learn that KAR is proposing a divorce , Thinking that he now stands a better chance, he shows his affection for her but KAR refuses his love. Feeling sad and disappointed, YIN cannot stand being teased and humiliated by his team-mates. He threatens to kill them with his gun and finally he is sacked. CHEUNG's neighbour, LUK SIU FAN, is raped by SAN's son ROCKY. Besides offering her consolation, CHEUNG also promises to make ROCKY pay for his crime. After a thorough investigation, CHU~N still decides not to charge ROCKY because of insufficient evidence. CHEUNG is unwilling to give up the case and the two have a quarrel. After his quarrel with CHUEN, CHEUNG finds him always posing difficulty to his work, CHEUNG is also angry to find that SHAN shares the same opinion with CHUEN over FAN's case saying that he is too emotional and impulsive. BILL eventually gets SAN arrested and is highly praised by his senior. Feeling now confident of his promotion, BILL earnestly prepares himself better for the assessment hoping that this may bring him and KAR back together. However, KAR has made up her mind of going back to the states. On the other hand, ROCKY on knowing that PING has betrayed his father causing his death, decides to avenge on him. When he meets PING, it just happens that KAR is also around. KAR is then taken hostage by ROCKY who forces BILL to meet him. In the end, BILL saves KAR from ROCKY's hand. CHUEN blames CHEUNG for paying too much attention to FAN's case and let BILL crack down on SAN's case, reducing his chance of getting promoted. Unable to stand CHUEN's criticism, CHEUNG resigns. Nevertheless, after careful consideration, both 'CHUEN and CHEUNG Decide to forget the past and make up again.
