Worried about Tung Man's safety, Ming Wai brings along her daughter to the scene. When Sau Yin sees her on the television, misunderstanding arises. To avoid complication, Ming Wai leaves Hung's house. Tung Man's superior praises him for his bravery and asks him to resume duty. Encouraged by his colleague Tung Man decides to continue his service with the police force. Lai Bing's straightforward personality has turned many men away and thus she remains single at her age. Yeung Lung appreciates Lai Bing's kind heart, but is too timid to reveal his passion to her. Tung Man bets with Jin Pok that he can show his authority over Sau Yin when he gets tipsy. Sau Yin feels humiliated and insists on having an apology from Tung Man. Ho Tung Man is a veteran cop, but still stays in a junior post as he has failed in several promotion exams. Loaded with family burden, he remains as a bachelor at the age of forty. Tung Man works hard in the hope that his brother Sun Man will become a university student. However, the outgOing Sun Man has chosen to be a cop for his career, which is objected by Tung Man. Knowing that Tung Man has d passion for Ah Oi Sun Man arranges a date for them and he makes use of the situation to ask Tung Man's approval for his joining the police force. Tung Man gives in. The hot-tempered Yeung Lung is transferred from CID to the uniformed section and has been assigned to be Tung Man's partner. To vent his frustration after the transfer, Yeung Lung hurts a suspect while on patrolling duties. Tung Man gets hurt when he tries to stop Yeung Lung. Sun Man makes use of Siu Yin to play trick back on Jin Pok and Chow Chiu who believe that there is somebody behind the scene and force Siu Yin to tell the truth. Siu Yin feels uneasy. Sau Yin was brought to a quiet beach by her persistent adorer Mok Lap Chung who forces her to be her wife. Luckily, Tung Man turns up and saves her. He then takes Sau Yin back to the police station to give evidence. While Sau Yin is giving her evidence, Tung Man teases her. Sau Yin feels offended and complains Tung Man for his poor attitute. Fearing that his brother's career may be affected by his poor record, Tung Man apologizes to Sau Yin and begs her to withdraw her complaints. Sau Yin agrees. Seeing that Tung Man remains guarding outside her house under the heavy rain, Sau Yin asks the Amah to bring an umbrella to him. Tung Man rejects, thinking that it is not proper for a cop to hOid an umbrella during his service. Sau Yin gradually changes her impression on Tung Man. In order to prove that Sun Man does love her, Yuk Chee lies that she will be leaving for Australia……

Tung Man loses confidence in himself as he gets hurt when working with Sun Man. On the contrary, Sun Man is highly commended by his superior. Feeling disheartened, Tung Man decides to resign and start his aquarium business with Jin Pok and Choi Lap Tak. Yuk Chee's boyfriend is arrested as he is suspected to be involved in narcotics. Yuk Chee's father decides to send her to study overseas. That makes up a chance for Yuk Chee and Sun Man to develop their relationship. Knowing that Sun Man has a date with Yuk Chee, Siu Yin is worried. Encouraged by her close friend, Siu Yin decides to reveal her love to Sun Man. However, she is heartbroken when she sees Man and Chee are very intimate. Tung Man finds out that the location he wants to rent for his business belongs to Sau Yin. He also has stopped Sau Yin's lawyer from cheating her. Sau Yin finally decides to let her space to Tung Man. The two start to be in good term.

While chatting with her cousin, Sau Yin finds herself attracted by Tung Man. She then tries to stay close to him. Knowing that Sau Yin has a fortune, Lap Tak first wants to woo her and later withdraws as he finds out that Sau Yin has a passion to Tung Man. After supper with Sau Yin, Tung Man finds himself in short of cash and asks Sau Yin to pay the bill. Sau Yin first suspects that Tung Man is a crook, but later she knows she is wrong as Tung Man returns the money back to her. Not until his family hint him does Tung Man realize that Sau Yin likes him. Because of his poverty, he does not have the courage to chase Sau Yin. After the encouragement by his family, he decides to woo her.

Episode Eight Sau Yin takes great care of Tung Man when he is sick. That makes Tung Man moved. Due to his work, Sun Man cannot go to movie with Yuk Chee who then asks another boyfriend to accompany her. Seeing that Yuk Chee stays so intimate with another man in public, Sau Yin and Wai Lin write an anonymous note to Sun Man to inform him. Suspecting Yuk Chee has another affair, Sun Man questions her who is agitated. The two lovers start to quarrel, but soon become reconciled. Tung Man invites Sau Yin to dinner. However, he starts his meal first without waiting for Sau Yin who is very angry and complains Tung Man for lack of courtesy. Yeung Lung has a minor dispute with Lai Bing when he visits Tung Man, but is resolved quickly.

Sun Man invites Siu Yin to spend time with him and Yuk Chee. Knowing that Siu Yin has confided the secret to Sun Man, Yuk Chee bears the grudge against Siu Yin and insults her in public. Knowing what Yuk Chee has done to Siu Yin, Wai Lin encourages Siu Yin to reveal her passion to Sun Man. However, because of her inferiority complex, she even tries to avoid him. Sun Man is very upset by Sau Yin's snobbishness and by their frequent disputes over trial things. Nevertheless, with Lai Bing's help, they reconcile. Yuk Chee is found to have marijuana with her friends on the beach and is caught by the police. Sun Man finds hi s face losing and scolds Yuk Chee who reveals her dissipated character. Sun Man decides to break off with her. Seeing that Sun Man is upset in his affair, Tung Man spends time to be with him. Their misunderstanding resolves.

Sau Yin is jealous as she finds that Tung Man spends more time with his brother than her. However, Tung Man ignores her feeling and that makes her more upset. After getting over his emotional pain, Sun Man decides to concentrate his energy on his work. Wai Ming is worried for her husband as he has not returned home after a long business trip and a girl keeps on calling him up. Tung Man suspects that he has toubles with his affair. Actually Kai Tong has a mistress and proposes a divorce to Ming Wai. Facing the emotional and financial problems suddenly, Ming Wai realizes the importance of independence. With the encouragement from Tung Man and Sau Yin, Ming Wai decides to start a new life again.

On the day of the opening of the aquarium, Lap Tak is found missing. Later, it is found that he is in big debt and has taken the company capital away. Tung Man complains Jin Pok for introducing a crook to him. When Sau Yin learns about the fact, she is very upset as she has given a big sum of money to Lap Tak to buy some rare fish. She then puts all the blame on Tung Man Tung Man faces financial crisis as the Design Contractor asks him to settle the payment. Sau Yin realizes that she has blamed Tung Man wrongly and volunteers to lend money to him. Tung Man accepts the proposal. Because the aquarium business is not doing well, Tung Man decides to find a part time job in order to repay Sau Yin. Tung Sing asks him to join the police force again, but Tung Man refuses. One day while Tung Man is taking a ride in a minibus, a robber gets in, taking all passengers as hostages……

Jin Pok and Sun Man threaten Lap Tak to return the debt. Fearing that there may be a bloodshed, Siu Yin reports to Tung Sing who arrives and scolds Sun Man. Sun Man is angry with Siu Yin and teases her in public. Siu Yin is upset and asks to transfer to the New Territories. Sau Yin finally realizes that Tung Man and Ming Wai are just ordinary friends. She then goes back to Tung Man who is unable to resist her charm. To help Ming Wai to be independent, Tung Man arranges a job for her in the aquarium. Having seen Siu Yin's beautiful photos in the magazine, Sun Man starts to have a second thought on her. After dating with Siu Yin for a while, Chi Keung proposes to her rashly. Feeling disappointed with Sun Man, Siu Yin accepts the proposal. Knowing that Siu Yin is getting married, Sun Man is very angry and has a fight with Chi Keung.

Realizing that she does not love Chi Keung, Siu Yin decides to break her engagement with him. Thinking that Yeung Lung has a feeling on Lai Bing's good friend Ah Chu, he asks Lai Bing to put them together. After knowing Yeung Lung's feeling, Tung Man encourages him to reveal his passion. Lung and Bing at last open themselves up to each other. Tung Man is a straightforward person who just asks the florist to send flowers to Sau Yin instead of proposing to her directly. Despite Tung Man's objection, Sau Yin insists in having an extravagant wedding party and prepares to pay for it herself. Tung Man feels humiliated. Sun Man is touched by Sin Yin's passion to himself and decides to woo her. They become lovers quickly. Sun Man and Siu Yin are so immersed in their island trip that they miss their last ferry. They have to spend the night together at a resort. During that night, they have sexual relationship. Sau Yin insists in residing in her old house after the wedding. Tung Man gives way unwillingly. After careful consideration, Tung Man proposes to postpone their wedding as he finds that there are lots of conflicts between them. Sau Yin is very angry . Sau Yin does not want to be controlled by Tung Man and decides to sell the aquarium and forces Tung Man to keep the wedding date. Tung Man feels guilty as he thinks he has caused Sau Yin to have losses both financially and emotionally. He tries to compensate for Sau Yin's losses, but is rejected by Sau Yin who even states that she wants him to carry that feeling lifelong. She then goes for a trip to relax herself. Inspector Chi Wai appreciates Sun Man's performances and assigns him to be a police spy. When the assignment finishes, Sun Man will be promoted and he feels greatly encouraged. Siu Yin finds herself pregnant. Sun Man promises to marry her. However, he is perplexed as he knows that his married life will affect his secret duty. Following the family's advice, Sun Man gives up his promotion opportunity and marries Siu Yin. However, he still returns home late after his marriage and is therefore scolded by Tung Man. While chasing after a robber in the street, Sun Man's pistol is robbed. He is then faced with disciplinary punishment……

Sun Man is demoted and posted to station at an outlying island. Frustrated by his transfer, Sun Man loses temper easily and the couple starts to have dissension. Ming Wai finds a job at a bookshop which is charged for selling pornographic publication. Ming Wai gets involved and needs to give evidence. The case is handled by Tung Man who shows concern to Ming Wai. They start to develop friendship, Sun Man is assigned to deal with tedious cases at his new post and hence he feels disheartened. After a short separation, Sun Man and Siu Yin find themselves more devoted to each other. After getting along with Ming Wai. Tung Man develops an affection to her. Without looking down upon her as a divorced woman he begins to woo her.

Tung Man pays visit to Ming Wai frequently. He gets along well with Wai's daughter and enjoys himself very much in her family life. Lai Bing does not approve Tung Man having an affair with a divorced woman and exerts pressure on Tung Man. Returning from her trip, Sau Yin finds herself still attached to Tung Man, and, hence, she decides to go back to Tung Man and start their relationship again. when discovering that Tung Man has an affair with Ming Wai, and thinking that Ming Wai has stolen her lover, she is so upset that she slaps Wai.

Ming Wai is worried about her daughter's safety as Ching Ching goes to a toy shop alone after school without informing her. Luckily, Tung Man is at the scene, helping Ming Wai to find her daughter. Tung Man's tenderness to Ching Ching impresses Ming Wai who gradually takes to him. As a divorced woman, Ming Wai is worried that Tung Man may not accept her. She is greatly relieved as Tung Man does not care about it. Ming Wai and Tung Man go to celebrate Sau Yin's birthday. The three become reconciled. While Ming Wai and Tung Man's relationship develops, Kai Tong returns and wants to win back her affection. Ming Wai is confused. In order to separate Tung and Wai, Kai Tong threatens Tung Man who is not scared.
