The Chief, KAR WAI YAN, and TSUI WONG TSOI band together to deceive the villagers of Tze Hui and control the political and economical aspects of the village. The ignorant villagers are always arranged by them but still respect them very much. YAN takes the excuse of' discussing with TSUI the method of squeezing money from the villagers to get happiness in Ngai Heung Yuen. However, his wife, Tai Da discovers that and goes to seize him. In order to toady YAN, SHEK KIN urges to inform VAN. VAN deceives his wife with TSOI. The followers of TSOI transports the goods back to Tze Hui. However, on the way, they are robbed by the SINGLE EVE LUNG. LUNG even declares that he will go to get the protection fee from TSUI three days later. This makes TSOI very angry. TSUI lets his son, VAU FU, manage the gambling-house. However, FU is too timid to get back the debt from the gamblers.… ...

Episode 2

LUNG leads his followers to rob TSOI on his birthday and catch TSOI and SIU MAN. By that time, PAK SIU NA takes the bean curd there and is thus caught by the robbers. LUNG threatens TSOI for a large sum of money in order to save his life and SIU MAN. TSOI is very afraid and promises to do so. Returning to Tze Hui, TSOI deceives the Villagers that if they do not give the money to the robbers, the robbers will destruct the whole village. The villagers really believe him and take their money out. TSOI and VAN even can keep part of the money for their own use. The robbers love NA's beauty very much and want to rape her. NA struggles severely and makes them fainted. The robbers, however, declare that they have succeeded in raping NA. Tsar sends the money to the hill fortress to get back SIU MAN and SIU NA. TSOI knows that SAI has arranged a meeting with CHING and goes home immediately. At that time, YAN and MAN are having their secret meeting. But they are clever enough to get away from TSOI. OAI wants to solve the problem but in turn he is forced out by Mother PAK. DAI becomes homeless and has to live in Ngai Heung Yuen again. When TSOI knows that, he forces FONG to send DAI away, otherwise, he will increase the rent. However, FONG is willing to stop the business rather than bear the high rent. TSOI fears that he will lose the place of happiness and promises not to raise the rent within five years anymore. Tsar knows that DAI's western shop is going to be opened. He asks the workers to decorate his opium-den quickly in order to win over DAI. On the day their business starts, DAI is dissatisfied with TSOI's behaviour. He even spreads the damages of opium to China before the opium-den. KIN tries to fight back. DAI discovers that VAN and TSOI try to deceive the villagers and isolate them from the outside world.… ...

Episode 10

Encouraged by SAI, FU finally dares express his love towards MUI. However, when he reaches Ngai Heung Yuen, he finds that MUI is much freer than usual. This makes him very surprised. TSOI asks his followers to destroy the articles of DAI and declares that western articles are harmful to villagers' health. Villagers thus asks for refund from DAI. SAI tries to strengthen their business by arranging fashion show to attract customers. However, they are hindered by VAN and TSOI. TSOI even says that DAI is doing something evil to the village and asks the villagers to protest against the show. In view of the ignorance of the villagers, KA and SAI decide to educate the villagers by providing free education. After series of hard attempt, they finally succeed in encouraging the villagers to attend the school. CHING admires western ideas and goes to learn foreign language in the school.… ...

Episode 11

CHINS takes the initiative to request for the marriage with SAL. However, SAL declares that he does not love her suddenly, making CHINS very angry. CHINS even wants to die but SAL is not touched by that. CHING is very disappointed and leaves the HO family. TSOI is still angry with CHING and does not want to find her. However, since he knows that CHING has tried to commit suicide and MAN always cries for CHING, so TSOI sends people to find CHING. MAN is very anxious and unintended says that CHING is not the daughter of TSOI. But TSOI disregards this. CHING is very upset and meets KIN in the street. KIN takes this chance to toady CHING but is still in vain. By that time, TSOI arrives and persuades CHING to go home. KIN is seriously attacked and goes to Ngai Heung Yuen. TSOI and VAN are afraid that once the villagers are being educated, they can no long control them. Therefore, he declares that DAI is spreading Some evil ideas and makes use of his Chief's power to stop the school from operating. SAL runs a campaign to collect signatures to support the re-opening of the school but is suppressed by VAN. DAI even writes to the town to disclose VAN's evil deeds and request for a special investigator to examine the case. When the special investigator arrives at the Village of TZE HUI, VAN and TSOI make the environment very peaceful and use a lot of money to welcome him. This can keep the evils of smoking and gambling in secret. The special investigator suggests to have re-selection of the Chief of the village. TSOI and DAI try their best to win their own support.

TSOI forces FONG to toady the special investigator in order to gain his support. He even sends people to lead SAI and NA to fall into a trap so as to reduce the power of DAI. On the day of selection, VAN bribes the villagers to vote for him. He really wins the selection making DAI very disappointed. SAI knows that he loves NA deeply but he lacks the courage to express his feeling. However, he even knows that KA also loves NA. Comparing love and friendship, he is very contradicted. CHING knows the close relationship between SAI and NA. She angrily declares that it is NA who has toadied SAI, making him turn to her. CHING even insults NA, making NA very sad.

YAN even sends his followers to destruct his house. They become enemies then.

TSOI knows that FU has close relationship with MUI and asks FU not to take it so seriously and refuses to let MUI get into his family. However, FU is very determined to get along with MUI for his whole life. After FU has taken up TSOI's business, he discovers that TSOI has run a gambling-house, creating a lot of broken families. He determines to co-operate with DAI to spread the damage of gambling to the public, making TSOI's business very poor then. TSOI knows that FU even co-operates with DAI to destruct his business. He punishes FU to stand in the street on a rainy night. FU goes to Ngai Heung Yu en but is caught by TSOI. FU is then knocked up by TSOI. TSOI even does not allow him to find MUI. FU requests KWAN to bring a message to KA and SAI asking them to help him to leave TSOI.FONG decides to help FU to hide in Ngai Heung 'Yuen. TSOI leads his followers to search Ngai Heung Yuen and finally finds FU.… ...

However, They then The robber, SINGLE EVE LUNG, requests for money from the Village of Tze Hui. DAI co-operates with the villagers to fight away the robbers. This makes LUNG very angry. KIN knows that he can no longer depend on VAN and TSOI. Therefore, he co-operates with LUNG to establish another set of power in the village KIN knows that LUNG loves CHING. In order to win the trust of LUNG, he even betrays CHING. He persuades LUNG to rob the village and catch CHING and FU in order to request for money from VAN and TSOI. ~AI has tried his best to collect money but it .is still not enough to pay for the ransom. Therefore, they have to ask for the help from TSOI. Originally, TSOI is still very angry. However, because of years of relationship with CHING and FU, TSOI finally promises to co-operate with them to fight with LUNG.
